作品介紹｜

本作品以臺北的部分灌溉系統及用水變化為想像,從清朝乾隆時期開始由民間自發建造的瑠公圳,拓展了農業灌溉的幅員。而隨著現代社會的發展,大部分的瑠公圳用水線路已不存在。藝術家追尋著曾經水圳的遺跡,以及部分仍存在的水圳,透過聲音的錄製,探索著水的不同流動樣貌,乘載著地域的成長與變化。而現在的臺北地區已不是以農業灌溉為主要的用水方式,過去曾為瑠公圳支流用水景況的松菸也依稀難以辨認;在松山菸廠的戶外空間，植栽、庭園、生態池的用水方式,也成為藝術家關注的聲音聆聽對象。本作品結合不同狀態的用水聲音,在展覽場域「菸廠室內水槽」 中復返與流動。

Introduction｜

This work is inspired by a part of the irrigation system in Taipei and how the use of water has changed. Liugongzun (a system of canals and irrigation ditches that once run through Taipei) was built by civilians during the Qianlong era of the Qing dynasty; the objective was to expand the city’s irrigation system for agricultural purposes. With the development of modern society, most of the Liugongzun irrigation lines no longer exist. In search of the remains of past canals and irrigation ditches and also those that still exist today, the artist makes sound recordings to explore the different ways that water flows, which shows the area’s development and changes. Water is no longer mainly used in Taipei for agriculture, and remnants of the Liugongzun at the old Songshan Tobacco Plant are now barely recognizable, although the plant used to rely on it for water. The artist also focuses on the sounds made by how water is used in the outdoor area, courtyards, and the eco-pool in Songshan and also on the vegetation there. This artwork brings together different sounds captured from water that’s being used under different circumstances, and it is presented in the indoor sink of the tobacco factory , as it shuffles and flows.
