This experience was simply awesome. Coffee on the beach, watching the birds and surfers. The breakfast with fresh fruit was nicely presented and flavourful. Service was professional and prompt. You need to try this if in the area!

Picked the end of December for a drive down from Sacramento to Los Angeles along the west coast, on the beautiful, incomparable US Coastal Highway 1. This was along anticipated, 36-year dream plan to experience that coastline up close… Of course, the weather and our airline (Southwest) both conspired to screw things up royally !! It rained every day of our 10-day vacation except the last, and when we were to fly from Seattle to Sacramento, the airline industry had a meltdown, leaving us stranded at SeaTac at 5:30 in the morning. Well, we couldn’t give up, and rented a car and drove 17 hours through pelting rain to get to CA and assume our planned itinerary. Wouldn’t advise anyone to try this !! Santa Barbara ! The fabulous home of the rich and famous. Even Harry & Meghan ! But for us almost-at-the-end-of-our-coastal-drive, a last stop before the flight home from Los Angeles the next night. And it NEW YEAR’s DAY morning, and the sun finally came out after 8 continuous days of drenching. Everyone’s out on the roads and beaches here, and we went looking for some breakfast and sun. Shoreline Restaurant is located on Shoreline Beach… an expanse of sand, coconut palm trees and waves. It is laid out in a couple of open-plan, canopied decks on the sand, adjoining a low, tile-roofed structure that houses the kitchen and facilities. There is plenty of public parking along the beach, right nearby. The decks where guests sit to eat and drink look out west at this incredible expanse of the Pacific Ocean… all the way to Japan. Or maybe Hawaii ….Russia, perhaps ? The atmosphere was intensely CA.. beach-attired, suntanned kids with surfboards, kites, dogs, parents, bikes, skateboards, cars… you name it ! All there for the sunshine and surf - which was up, but not raging as the storms of the last many days abated. And it was certainly nice to be able to sit out there and enjoy the stiff breeze, if one could keep their things together. Though the place was teeming with patrons - kids yelling, music blaring, waves roaring and there was a crazy sense of calm within the excitement of being out and free, the service was quick and efficient.. thank you, Gina. You were an excellent, attentive and courteous host. We shared a very tasty plate of Huevos Rancheros, with toast, coffee and orange juice. Can’t get more breakfast than that ~ the whole deal was $33 plus a tip.. not bad for the CA beach scene. The main dish has been a favorite for a while and we always order it when it’s on the menu, and the time is right. And it was delightful. Do go and try this place out if you’re visiting the area.

This is a very nice and casual place right on the beach. The set up is nice in that you can eat under a tent or you can eat in the open area by the beach. The service and food were both very good and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely go again if we were in the area (we were just visiting and meeting friends).

Another great local place to enjoy great food and SPECTACULAR ocean views and sunsets! Menu is full of yummy choices for dinner. We got the burger and the fish n chips. Burger was cooked perfect and the fish and chips had 4 generous sized fish portions and great tartar dipping sauce. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Shrimp tacos, recommended by the server, were mediocre (too much "stuff" added). Glass of wine was mediocre for the price. Service was poor (woman at a nearby table who had my server had to get up and go find server to get a take away box). View would have been terrific (right on the beach) but for the fact that a huge cruise ship (est 8-10 decks) dominated the bay and complete destroyed the beach front atmosphere. Parking was easy. Probably 50 better places for food in SB, no matter what your preferences.

This spot is more about the location than the food (which was just OK). It’s a super-casual place with a deck, but also some tables right on the sand. Shorts & flip-flops would be fine. You can eat & drink with your toes in the sand. Great for watching the waves and relaxing.

Looking to out your toes in the sand look no further. Had a good breakfast of Chilaquiles here in the sun. Good coffee, low key beach. Enjoyed this “not fancy” part of Santa Barbara. Food was good and fast and service was attentive. Seemed like student wait staff. They did a great job.

Loved this casual cafe with excellent food. The ceviche was fresh and better than any other we had on this trip to SB. I also enjoyed the chilaquiles. But my favorite was the outstanding veggie tacos - expertly prepared. We enjoyed lunch so much we came back the next day for breakfast. Both times, tables right on the beach with toes in the sand. Friendly staff and fast service.

We were in Santa Barbara for two weeks, just relaxing. We ended up having several meals here. The restaurant is casual and on the beach. For us oldsters, outdoor the covered patio has baseboard heat. The menu is simple, mostly fish with some Mexican highlights. The view is spectacular. In December, we had minimal wait times. Gluten free and vegan options are identified.

A decent place with a great view. I ordered a breakfast scramble and it was ok, though the portions are a bit small for the price. They plopped my one slice of toast on top of the eggs and cheese, making a mess. The potatoes were awesome, I believe they drop them into the deep fryer for an extra crispness. They are a bit pricey, but you're paying for the view. Service was friendly and the tables were well spaced.

Awesome location with awesome service. Went during fiesta, lively but still mellow atmosphere on the beach. Nice way to enjoy Santa Barbara at the beach.

Put your toes in the sand and order a happy hour drink from 4-6 p.m., and you will be a happy beach-goer. The food is nothing to write home about, though you can sample an appetizer. Just don't make it the chowder french fries. :"What's that?" I asked. "So good," said the server, "that people want it after happy hour and we can't serve it." Think french fries smothered in white clam chowder. Ugh. But a great Bloody Mary (hold the salt rim!) and aperol laced with soda and and orange slice.Service prompt and friendly. Looked like it is also a locals meet-up for drinks and snacks.

Can't beat the beach vibe. We ordered lunch at the cafe. Burgers and shakes, what's not to like? Expect a wait at lunch time, when you order a smoothie or shake. Been nearly half hour and no sign of our smoothies.
