How does these work? As someone who only played FEH in the last 6 years as gacha, I am finally getting invested in the Hoyoverse games, Genshin is first before I try Star Rail & Honkai.

How do I obtain wishes and what’s the best way to use them to get new characters? (Navia seems to be my favorite from all the trailers I’ve seen!!).

You obtain 1 Fate per 160 primogems. You get primogems from playing the game. From opening chests, achievements, doing events and, in general, playing the game. 1 fate = 1 wish.

You're guaranteed a 5* within 90 wishes. There is a soft pity at around 75 pulls where 5* rates increase rapidly. Your first 5* is 50/50 chance on the banner character or a standard character. If you roll a Standard Character your next 5* is guaranteed to be the banner character. All these rolls get carried over when the banners change. So if you roll 50 times while it's Navia's banner, when it changes to Venti you will only have to roll 40 times max for the guarantee to kick in.

To a answer all your questions, wishes are made using a currency called primogems, which can be obtained from exploration, like chests, event and quest rewards, achievements, battle pass as well as being bought. Character, are obtained from banners that are cycled roughly every 25 days, and will require at a maximum of 90 wishes to claim a five star character, and of you do not receive the banner character, your next character, will be the banner character.

And if want to get Navia you will have to wait for her next banner

Is there a schedule or chart for any characters returning? FEH has something like that.

Is Noelle worth a grab in beginner’s wish?

Definitely, she's a decent shielder and you get two extra wishes when you do the ten pull for her.

Limited 5-star character and weapon banners change every 3 weeks. They use pink wishes instead of blue wishes. (The limited character banners are probably the strongest; make sure to prioritize those and choose a powerful 5-star.)

Probably the fastest way to get wishes for someone just joining is doing the archon quests and the major side quests like Dragonspine.

Rather than being able to just log in to claim some daily gacha currency, there are dailies to complete. They don't take terribly long, but they can get pretty redundant. Idk if you were a FEH Passer, but if you ever consider spending any money on Genshin or HSR - which you absolutely do NOT have to do. Many players never spend a dime on either game - you should get Welkin before anything else (Express Supply Pass in HSR). It's the most bang for your buck, but you do have to log in daily for the period of time you have it. I'd also recommend doing events at your earliest convenience so you don't miss them, but also don't feel too obligated such that the game becomes a job.

Most else is covered fairly well, but i also want to highlight that there is also a "Fate Point" in Genshin which isn't a pull. The Fate point that perfect spoke about I believe is in reference to another gacha.

Some other things: there's no difference between a 10 pull and pulling individually in the grand scheme of things. The only difference is that your irl time spent pulling will be faster with 10 pulls.

Whenever you lose your 50/50, you will only ever lose it to the same type of item as you were pulling for. For example, if you pull for Navia and lose your 50/50, it will be a character; conversely for a 5 star weapon and lose 50/50, you'll get a weapon.

You will only lose your 50/50 to 5 stars that are on the Standard banner. You won't stumble into a Navia, a Venti, Albedo, Yoimiya, etc. when pulling on any given banner. The pity breaking Standard 5 stars have not cycled in the 4.5 years the game has been out. (Personally, I think that is due in part that the game has not had powercreep anywhere near FEH's powercreep, so that's really nice)

The Chronicled Wish banner is not currently running, but it runs on its own rules. This type of banner, alongside the Weapon banner, utilize a Fate Point system that is similar to a guarantee but is absolutely not the same. But, you don't need to worry about either of those banners right now. Keep to the Limited Character banner.

Incidentally, there tends to be two Limited Character banners running at any given time. These banners share both pity and the guarantee you'll get from one or the other (or any prior Limited Character banners).

Not 5 star related, but for the 4 stars, the ones shown on the banner are the ones with better odds to show up. However any 4 stars in the Standard banner may show up at any time when pulling on a Limited banner (except for the 3 starter characters). Never bet on getting any specific 4 star, even if they are rated up. With every 10 pulls (whether you do a 10 pull or 10 single pulls), you are guaranteed to get a 4 star of some kind.

- Most importantly -

You should not bet that you will win your 50/50. Many people do so and end up having to let the banner character pass by because they didn't save up enough pulls and couldn't help but pull on something because it had "been a while." To absolutely guarantee that you get Navia or any character, it's in your best interest to save about 180 pulls so that if you lose your 50/50 at pull 82, then you still have enough pulls to use your guarantee on the character you were aiming for. Characters take many months to more than a year to rerun and we don't know how long it may be until we see them again, so be careful with your pulls

I play FEH daily and only paid monthly (ever since I started) for the pass. I don’t spend a dime on the game otherwise.

This is useful but also a lot of information. I’ll have to save this.

Another thing to be aware of: The 5-star characters featured on Limited Banners are known as Limited Characters and can ONLY be obtained when they're featured on-banner. They don't go to a general pool after their banner is over, but instead become completely impossible to obtain. However, all characters* eventually get reruns, so missing out doesn't mean you'll never have a chance to get them - they'll be back.

There are seven Standard Characters available in the Standard Banner, who you can also get when you fail to obtain a Limited Character that you're after. These are Jean, Diluc, Mona, Keqing, Qiqi, Tighnari, and Dehya. When a new Standard Character is added to the game (this happens very rarely), they get one Limited banner run, and then become a Standard character forever after. When this happens, players will be informed by the banner that the character is going into the Standard pool. Tighnari and Dehya were added to the game in this way; the rest have been in the Standard pool since day one.

*Note: Aloy is an exception. She is a promotional collaboration character and never had a run in the first place, let alone a rerun. She was given for free to players who played the game at the time of the promotion, and is unavailable now. It is likely she will never be made available again.

Aloy from Horizon!? No fair!!

Is Noelle worth the grab?

If you mean, "should you wish on the Beginner's Banner" (which gives a free Noelle), my recommendation is "yes". It's a good banner for new players, as all the 4- and 5-star drops from it will be characters (which a new player needs most), and the 4-star characters are all of the ones added to the game at the game's launch. Early 4-stars tend to be much stronger than 4-stars added later on, and many are top-tier units used in the toughest content the game has to offer.

Some argue that the wishes you spend on the Beginner's Banner (sixteen in total) could instead be spent on the Standard Banner, to bring you closer to your first 5-star character there. I still feel that the benefits of the Beginner's Banner outweigh sixteen wishes worth of pity on the Standard Banner.

If you do wish on the Beginner's Banner, I recommend only using the wishes the game gives you for free to do so. Don't spend Primogems to get those wishes - Primogems are much better spent on the Limited Character Banners, like Nevuillette's and Kazuha's. The game gives you lots of Acquaint Fates over time; save those up and spend them on Beginner's and Standard, rather than paying Primogems to get them.

I really appreciate this. I’m pretty good at saving in regards for getting who I really want (via FEH). I’ve went through the list of characters and there are 5-6 that I would love to main. The rest would be extras.
