- Recording history, taken from the Blu-ray edition:
Seventh Dream Of Teenage Heaven is the debut album from Love And Rockets, recorded at Woodbine Studios in 1985. The basic tracks were recorded onto 2" analogue multi-track tapes and mixed digitally onto F1 tape. Any subsequent stereo analogue copies were created from this digital mix and the CD was among the first issued by Beggars Banquet. When re-issuing the album in 2000 the producer, John A. Rivers, re-mastered the tracks from the F1 tapes, correcting as many deficiencies as possible from the original digital transfers. However, the digital was at 44.1 khz / 16 bit which was deemed inappropriate to use for this high definition audio release.
Consequently, as well as creating a full 96 khz / 24 bit surround mix from the original analogue multi-tracks, Neil Wilkes has also made a new HD Stereo mix for this Blu-ray disc.
So there you have it, folks - all releases are digital !, and I'll tell ya, this new Blu-ray release is the very best I've ever heard, starting with the vinyl and the cd when they first came out - I don't do surround, but I'll betcha it's fantastic ! - Edited 2 years agoAnyone know what the inner sleeve was for this? I just picked up a used copy with one of those generic poly lined paper inners with a greek key style rectangle pattern along the edges and center hole. I'm guessing it was 2nd hand inner, but want to be sure.
- The RCA.release has an extra track- Inside the Outside. I believe it was a single that the record company decided to add. I only found this out because this happened to be the first version I owned of it. Years later when it was re-released and bought it again, it didn't have that song. I thought it was a mistake ha!
