The Tai Po Waterfront Park is a 22 hectare city park situated on the northern shore of the Tolo Harbour. It opened to the public in 1997 and affords residents of Tai Po with well maintained and managed leisure and recreation space with good facilities and rewarding views of the harbour.

Quite a few buses call upon the park including those from the Tai Po Market MTR Station. You can also walk there from the station in 20-25 minutes. This is also a major stop on the very popular Tai Wan to Tai Mei Tuk bike trail.

The Waterfront Park has quite a lot to offer. There is expected grassy areas, children's playground areas, elderly fitness equipment, pebble walking trails, kite flying area, model boat pool, an insect house, sculpture installations, public toilets, bike rentals and parking areas and loads of promenade space directly on the sea.

A real highlight to visiting the Waterfront Park is the spiral-shaped lookout tower that is just over 32 metres in heigth, affording visitors really nice panoramic views of the harbour, nearby industrial park, the mountainous areas beyond Tai Po as well as the rest of the park, surrounding the lookout tower.

Overall, it is a really nice park and waterfront in the Tai Po area and a great stopping point to rest for those cycling through Tai Po.

Its not only a park but a walkway, a bicycle lane with the memorial tower in it. We visited on Saturday morning. The weather was pretty cloudy but there has lots of people.
The walkway links Tai Wo Estate to Tai Po Industrial area. You can see clearly the smokes come out from the high tall tubes at the end of the walkway.

We took the metro to Sha Tin and easily rented bikes right outside that we rode for about 1.5 hours to the Tai Po Waterfront Park. The company we rented from had a location where we could drop off our bikes at Tai Po. The ride past Hong Kong University was clean and beautiful (amazing views of the ocean). We spent about 5 days exploring Hong Kong and this was one of our favorite things we did! Bring sunscreen and lots of water in the summer because it was quite hot.

This is a nice city park and leisure area in Tai Po situated along Tolo Harbour in the New Territories. The Tai Po Waterfront is a large narrow tract of land with typical city park features and facilities including exercise equipment, children's playground area and plenty of green space.

There are a few interesting park inclusions, such as the motor boat pool which is fun to see on busy weekends when hobbyists - in high numbers make use of the pool. Some neat remote control boats can be seen on display.

The park includes an amphitheatre, bowling green and an interesting insect house with displays that might be interesting for the little ones. There is also a spiral shaped lookout tower, which winds up several storeys, providing elevated views of the harbour towards Ma On Shan. This is neat to visit when sky conditions are good.

Overall, the Tai Po Waterfront is a nice park, similar to the city parks in Sha Tin and Ma On Shan. It is a nice place to escape crowds and to spend time outside when weather is good. Sadly, this park is quite far from city based locations, making it less convenient to visit compared to the two parks mentioned above if you are coming from the city.

Note: From Tai Po Market MTR, take MTR feeder bus K17 to waterfront park. You'll be there in just a few minutes.

This park is one of the biggest park built and managed by LCSD HK. Reaching this place is not very easy. We took the MTR to Tai Po Market. We were informed that 275R bus takes us directly to the Tai Po Waterfront. We boarded the bus and by the time we realised the bus had passed the stop that we were supposed to get down at. Anyways, we finally reach the Tai Po Water front park.

Once at the park, the experience was pleasant. A lot of people had got kites to fly. Bicycles are available for rent. There are bikes in all sizes to cater to adults, kids of all ages. Renting the bicycle is easy. There are many tracks available to enjoy the ride.

One can also visit the insect park and a tower to get scenic view of the waterfront.

Overall, a good place for day picnic of cycling and family time.

Often staying in Tai Po Centre every time I visit HK, I enjoy exercising at this waterfront park. It is often crowded with people exercising even at 6 am in the morning. There are many people running, jogging, doing tai chi, and playing chess. It is great to get a breath of fresh air without the smell of smog in the morning.

This beautifully landscaped park occupies approx 22 hectares and is alleged to have cost over $220m to construct. It was opened in 1997, just before Hong Kong was handed back to China, and the spiral Lookout Tower commemorating the handover commands a panoramic view of Tolo Harbour and Horse Saddle Hill (Ma On Shan). Some of the features include: Central water feature, Insect House, rose garden, peony garden, jogging trail, waterfront promenade, fitness stations, amphitheater. The park is accessible by public transport (bus or MTR to Tai Po Market). A nice free day out!

Was staying in the area and went for a wander here. It's a really nice park, super clean, got a lookout tower, free wifi in certain areas. I'd say if you are staying nearby to pop along for a walk (and a bit of personal space) but don't take a day trip here as it's just a nice clean park.
