- Jacqui B3 contributionsThis was a really good day so interesting and special place but the staff in the house and those in the cafe were excellent. The knowledge of the staff in the tour and the consideration of the person who found the bird identifications was above and beyond. But the food in the cafe was lovely homemade soup and sour dough bun for lunch all made on the site were so good we had to go back for scone cake and tea after a walk around the glasshouse and very peaceful gardens. It felt like a lovely family home which it quite clearly was …. So interesting history and good food … brill day out.Written March 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kayley L2 contributionsI used to visit the farm as a child 20 years ago, and now visit with my toddler who absolutely loves it. Some of the reviews on here are hilarious to read, and the replies gave me a good laugh. Clearly the vast majority of them have never run a business before, nor have any idea about animal management. These people would do better to raise concerns where there are true animal welfare issues, Christmas Tree Farm is not one of them.
It’s a great little place for a cheap morning out that kids love. Also nice that they allow dogs as most places don’t. We usually go round multiple times and in fact think my daughter would stay all day if she could. What more do you really want. There are plenty of bigger places around if you want a full day out, and of course a price tag to match. It’s only downfall is the no picnics, however I understand their reasons.
I always recommend it to friends with young ones. We will be back and hope the miserable public don’t put an end to the place. I’d like to be able to return with my own grandchildren in years to come. Keep going guys, you’re doing a great job.Written February 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I take my sons to the home education group on a Tuesday morning and it’s been excellent for them both. Older one has grown in confidence hugely and looks forward to attending every week. Thanks to Spider and Lydia for running the group and thinking of such fun things for the children to do.Written March 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah H5 contributionsGreat theatre, great show but oh my goodness the cost of drinks £17.70 for a pint of moretti and a small bottle of prosecco. I was taken aback, far too expensive. Next time I'll either have drink elsewhere before hand or not bother.Written May 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sarabee11London, UK33 contributionsBeautiful park/ gardens. Every time I go I stumble across a different route. Ideally located in the middle of town, you’d never know it was there behind the theatre. Only issue is that there’s sometimes a lot of drunk/homeless people loitering (which I suppose happens in all town centres these days) so you have to keep your wits about you.Written July 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sheepygoldlondon5,334 contributionsI have visited Orpington many times over the years but never realised that this place existed. The building is very unassuming and opening times are restricted so it is easily missed. The museum consists of quite substantial remains which have been supplemented by modern additions to illustrate the heating system for instance. You can have an introductory talk which gives some useful background which is supplemented by the information boards and models on display. There are quite a few activities for children. There is no cafe or toilet here. You will only need 30 to 45 minutes here and the £1.50 entrance charge for adults is fair.Written August 17, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Been using Bromley for years never had a problem with guest services until now. Guest services manager bullying an autistic Vulnerable person with speech and language problems Made 2 complaints and the company say this person has to do his own complaint and can’t have me in the meeting ,how bad is that They would not allow a meeting with both of us this is in the glades in Bromley and because. I escalated the complaint they had the cheek to send me a harassment warning letter which I have reported to the police and police have said they have no right to do this and it means nothing And if I want to post on social media or go to papers we are entitled to do so . I don’t wish this to happen to anyone else or my friend again . I know this will be deleted but I will get the word around . I have never said I want the person sacked. . I even have it on recording that I let police listen to I said she should be moved to a different department as the two things she has done to him is discrimination against his disability which is not nice. I did not know that there were 3 companies involved Churchill group ,jll and amulet but the way that this complaint has been handled is not right. And disabled or vulnerable people should not be treated like this and I am disabled myself with brain injury And cerebella ataxia yet they issued me with a warning of harassment letter . Is this how they handle other complaints I wonder. I reported it to the human rights and equality act and they have said this is a section 15 breach but-the glades are saying there’s no evidence . Hopefully this has not happened to other peopleWritten November 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is usually plenty of waterfowl to admire (and photograph) with green space, a formal garden (the roses look great in Summer) and a wild flower bed.Written July 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It makes me sad to think that I cannot revisit with my children because the scout association has decided to sell it off.Written November 8, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
