Financial Aid
Bates was founded to remove barriers to education, including financial barriers. We award financial aid based solely on demonstrated need, meeting 100% of our students’ financial need through grants, loans, and campus employment. The average Bates grant for the Class of 2026 was $54,504; the average federal student loan debt for 2022 graduates was $13,531 — less than half the national average.
