I can't recommend this book enough, it has been a game changer for me. I initially bought this book due to a mild phobia a couple of years ago, used the techniques outlined in this book and overcame the phobia rather quickly. Fast forward a couple years and I picked it back up to read the anxiety sections of the book and found very helpful tools (conquering negative self-talk, how to deal with generalized anxiety, etc.) that I was able to put to use right away that not only helped me, but prevented me from seeking medicine alternatives to ease the anxiety. Granted, I am not dealing with high-level anxiety but for someone who needs some guidance and everyday tools to manage mild-moderate anxiety, this book is it. Highly recommend.

This is a true "workbook" filled with great information and useful "work sheets". As someone who has dealt with anxiety for 30 years, I am happy to find such a good, comprehensive, easy to understand book. I am going to share this with two other friends who might benefit too. Frankly, if you don't have access to a good counselor (luckily I do), this book would be a great place to find some tools and eventually some relief of your anxiety. The reading and exercises encourage honest self-reflection and analysis. If you're ready to do the work, this book will help! I purchased this book based on the strong reviews. I have developed a couple of phobias I'd like to work to manage better. I feel confident this book will help me. I took about 12 pages of notes while reading it, and that process alone has helped calm some of my fear! Thanks to the author and other reviewers.

I have major anxiety issues, I’ve had them for as long as I can remember. I bought this book with the off chance of just having it collect dust like many other books. But, I was very wrong. I started reading this and found myself coming back for more and more info from it. It helped to read in the car and when I was home alone. (Two things that cause major anxiety) this book went beyond the age old “breath in threw your nose and out threw your mouth” repetitions. It told me and helped me threw hard parts and even gave me the thoughts of “get angry with your anxiety!! Don’t let it control you!” I wrote some of those sayings on little cards and keep them with me at all times. VERY HELPFUL. 10/10 would highly suggest to my fellow friends.

This book is amazing. It has helped me so much. It was recommended to me through a support group. It is great for working through anxiety, panic, and Agoraphobia.

I do wish you could remove the pages that are worksheets or that it was spiral-bound to make photo copies of the worksheets. That is the only reason why I did not rate this at five stars.

It has tons of valuable information and helps you work through different issues similar to cognitive behavioral therapy. Even my therapist likes this book. If you suffer from panic, anxiety, etc. then this book might be helpful for you.

I was prescribed this book by my doctor, it helps that I love reading but it really does help put some of my issues into real words and solutions. I have not read through the whole book yet but am a good deal through. I like the writing style and the way the book is laid out, it is easy to read and easy to find which sections apply to you specifically. Anxiety and other panic type disorders can find many helpful facts and solutions in this book. If you're like me and you have such a disorder and would like to try to deal with the issues first without going a daily pill or constant therapy, I would recommend this book highly. I would also recommend it to people trying to understand these disorders, either way it is helpful and educational.

I purchased this workbook for the excellent chapters on feelings -- both how to access, name and deal with feelings around anxiety disorders. There is not enough good, easy information on adults accessing feelings in trauma or psychological literature, so I was thrilled to find not just one chapter, but a few, dealing with the complexities of this topic within these covers.

The rest of the book is exactly what the title suggests & contains some great, if common, information and worksheets.

As a psychiatrist who sees many patients suffering from mood and anxiety disorders over the past 32 years, I have found each new edition of Dr. Bourne's workbook to be an invaluable resource for therapists, patients and their families. Filled with knowledge, clear explanations, and incredible relaxation tools, I also recommend the later chapters for augmentation of CBT.

The affirmations are stellar, the feelings lists extremely helpful in promoting healthy verbal expressions of emotion, and the deep diaphragmatic breathing section of Chapter 4 is the best ever!
Demystifying panic attacks is done in an easily understandable and scientifically correct way!!
Love this tool for all of us!

As a person who has struggled with anxiety for many years I was desperate to finally be able to understand and take control of my anxiety, I was fed up with this nasty monster having control and power over me. I sat down and started reading and within a few pages I was understanding tge source of my anxiety and some methods to help change my frame of mind from negative to positive. Anyone who suffers from anxiety knows the biggest challenge is to stop it in its tracks before your panic attack spirals out of control, this book gives you the tools you need to fill your toolbox and help you get your life back! This book made me really realize that I am not alone and to be able to admit I needed some help to overcome the hurtle of anxiety! This book isn't only for people who have anxiety it's also a great read for spouses, family or friends of people who have anxiety, it helps give them the understanding they need to be supportive during times of heightened anxiety or panic attacks. This book is amazing! I'm ready to take control! Anxiety is no longer going to control my life, I am going to control anxiety!
