What to know

Netflix produces To All The Boys spin-off from Jenny Han

XO, Kitty is a romantic comedy series created by Jenny Han and produced by Netflix. The show is a spinoff of Netflix’s 2018 original film, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. That movie was based on the first book in a trilogy written by Han, which was released in 2018.

XO, Kitty marks the very first time a Netflix original movie inspired a series spinoff. It follows Katherine Covey – known to all except her enemies as Kitty – on her immigration journey to South Korea. The distance between her and Dae was too much for Kitty to bear, so she decides to immerse herself in a different culture in order to close that gap. Kitty seems to have all the answers when it comes to love but her journey to South Korea and shortening the distance between herself and Dae might be proof that she was more naive than she first believed.

Anna Cathcart reprises her role as Kitty Covey, Lara Jean’s scene stealing younger sister. Joining the actress are Choi Min-young as Dae, Anthony Keyvan as Q, Yunjin Kim as Jina, and Michael K. Lee as Professor Lee. XO, Kitty was released on May 18th, 2023 on Netflix.
