Amazon.com: Sum 41: Rocked - Sum 41 in Congo : Sum 41: Movies & TV
Rocked: Sum 41 in Congo is a grippingly honest and unscripted first-hand account of an African country in turmoil seen through the eyes of internationally acclaimed rock band Sum 41. While in the Democratic Republic of Congo with WarChild Canada, band members Deryck, Steve, Cone and Dave get caught in the middle of a tense battle between heavily armed rebel soldiers and government troops. The war in Congo has been characterized as one of the world's most humanitarian crises and the most deadly war ever documented in Africa. More than 3 million people have been killed in the last 6 years, making it the most lethal conflict since World War II. The film crew follows Sum 41 as they meet Congolese children and youth caught in the crossfire, including child soldiers and victims of assault. Sum 41's harrowing experience is caught on film as they witness firsthand what it is like to struggle for survival in a country where, since 1998, war has been more prevalent than peace.

I had been waiting to see this ever since I read about Sum 41 being evacuated out of the Congo. From an entertainment standpoint, this was pretty interesting. I mean certainly not Hollywood material, but you really get to know the guys in the band. Everyone's true colors show up when they're next to death, and these are some genuine guys.
The main purpose of this documentary, however, was to inform people about the war in the Congo. I have to say they did so flawlessly. I knew nothing about the Congo and now I feel like I could tell what's going on. The only war resulting in more deaths was WWII!! See that's some stuff you learn.
So basically, get this DVD so you can be aware, not to mention raise money for all those children in Africa. Too bad it didn't last longer......
I truly enjoyed this film. One of the few documentaries that I paid attention to all the way through. From mining with children to a outbreak of gunfire just beyond view as their hotel was evacuated, this video captures the problems of the congo and successfully spreads awareness. I've shown this to my friends who have had similar responses. I suggest this for viewing.
