Wylie High School Reviews
Rating 3.98 out of 5 532 reviews
In my experience attending Wylie High School I was met with diverse groups of people making it easy to fit in. On the other hand I think the school lacks school spirit/creativity. Students don’t really participate in pep rally’s nor attend that many sports games, except for football games. The clubs also lack engagement. Most of them are promoted as fun, worthwhile but in reality after attending and being a member in multiple clubs I have seen that it lacks guidance and actual work within the club.
As someone who is very involved in many extracurriculars at Wylie High School I feel that I have a unique perspective to share. I am involved in both the choir and colorguard/winterguard here. Both programs are extremely good and I feel that the district and school values us. The academics here are very good and in taking advanced/AP classes I feel challenged by my curriculum. However there are some downsides, occasionally I feel a bit unsafe about how the security is run but I recognize that in the current climate it is hard to keep schools secure. There are also lots of disciplinary issues within the school. Overall I have had a good experience here!
I have been a student in the Wylie INdependent School District for almost 12 complete years and both of my sisters also went their full 12 years in Wylie. I have traveled to many other schools for sports and other activites and I can confidently say no one does it like Wylie. We have immense amount of opportunities, rescourses, and love for ALL students. Wylie really is a second home for most students who have the privlege to pass by.
