I think this cd will be a treat to kid and even adult fans of the Monkees. Some songs are definitely geared to the kiddie crowd and children will enjoy the kid-friendly tunes even if they are not familiar with the show itself. My 6 year old enjoys dancing to the songs. I recognized most of the songs right away from the show but some were new to me. All quite enjoyable in my opinion. There is even a long version of the Monkees Theme song with verses I had never heard before.
Yes, I might be a little biased since I am a huge Monkees fan...but I definitely think this cd is worth checking out. :)
This album is good, for what it is..... The only song it was missing was Daddy's Song...... If u have a kid this may be perfect for getting them started on something great :) Buy with confidence just dont expect too much, it isn't the "White Album" just take it for what it is and u wont be disappointed.
Twelve songs aimed toward the younger pop fans. A couple of novelty cuts include the down right silly "Gonna Buy Me A Dog" (a different version than what I remember) and "Pillow Time". Best tracks as far as I'm concerned are "Your Auntie Grizelda", "Laugh" and the somewhat jamming "Saturday's Child". Wonder why they've never performed that song live.
