We rented a pontoon for the day and took in all the sites that Itasca had to offer. A bit windy that day, but with the different arms and coves the lake offered plenty of shelter and shade when we needed it. Fishing was sporadic at best, but still landed some nice ones.

Lake Itasca Minnesota . Was a beautiful trip there from Dubuque Iowa. Walked across the Mississippi , stayed at Rapid City. Took a drive to Dorset and that was a very cute little place.

Wife and I enjoyed the area. Really wish I had planned for trip earlier so we could have stayed in the cabins. Pretty cool to be able to walk across the Mississippi

Wonderful place

I have been there several times and always enjoyed it. It is amazing to see the humble source of one of the great rivers of the world. It is fun to say you have walked across the Mississippi (on the stones) without getting your feet wet (unless you slip).

Great visit

Came here with our Winnebago caravan group. Most of the people walked in the water. All had a great time. Lake Itaska feeds into the headwaters of the Mississippi River. Highly recommend. Rating... excellent

The lake has many features to it that can’t be seen from shore but taking the boat tour gave more insight to what the lake has to offer.

A beuatiful place to spend the day

I do not fish so I have no idea what's in there but I'm sure there are plenty. The weather was great sunny and warm and there is a lot to explore if you like hiking. I didn't camp either. This was just a day trip. If you enjoy being near or on the water this is a real nice place to visit.
