About
Built in 1914, this castle on a hill overlooking Toronto is regarded as a treasured heritage landmark. At Casa Loma, you can explore three levels of elaborately decorated rooms, including the Conservatory which has Italian marble floors and Ontario marble side panels. Permanent exhibitions and special exhibits here feature early Canadian history. The castle is also a popular place for private events, and serves as a backdrop for film and photo shoots. There's even a steakhouse located within the grounds offering the finest beef from all over the world. The tour of Casa Loma is self-guided but multimedia audio guides are available. – Tripadvisor

- LondonMac1Ongar, United Kingdom244 contributionsLovely Casa LomaVisited Casa Loma on first day of our recent trip to Toronto. Was a lovely sunny Sunday and the castle looked beautiful. Enjoyed exploring all the rooms and gardens and reading about the history of the castle and it’s owners. Spent quite a few hours here and the waxwork film exhibition in the basement was good fun. Was great seeing all the clips of films the castle has been used as a location in. We climbed the winding iron staircases to both turrets where you get great views across Toronto. And used the underground tunnel. A good place to visit and would be fun for all ages.Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 16, 2023
- Candace DMilford, New Hampshire5 contributionsGreat Way to Spend Your DayThe tour of the castle was great! It's not a guided tour (which I prefer) but there are signs and an audio tour you can download on your phone. We were there on a Thursday morning, weekends are probably more busy. I wouldn't want to go on a busy day. It can get a bit tight in areas if a few people want to see an area at the same time. I recommend finding a non-busy time to visit. I really enjoyed seeing the castle, although I do have to say their escape rooms and restaurant was more enjoyable.Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 25, 2023
- Lisa KPortage, Indiana37 contributionsA Wonderful Day at Casa LomaSpent a beautiful day at Casa Loma and the climb up all those stairs was worth it! There is a spectacular view from the towers and the mansion is fascinating. With so many rooms to explore - library, Great Hall, Conservatory, grand bedroom suites, and 2 towers - you could easily spend several hours lost in history. Not to mention the stable and garage that had its own tower and a wax museum of famous celebrities who had made films there. That was an unexpected treat. Of course, after all those stairs, it was nice to relax on the terrace and enjoy a gelato ... or two.Visited June 2023Written June 29, 2023
- emfeAthens_GeorgiaAthens, Georgia228 contributionsCastle Loma in midtown TorontoWe enjoyed our visit to Casa Loma and learning about this Gothic revival castle built by Sir Henry Pellatt. This was once the largest residence in Toronto and it was interesting to tour the rooms in this castle on the hill. Some of the rooms and halls were very dark and this may pose a problem for some folks. They do have an elevator which staff can operate for those with mobility issues. We saw the Blueblood Steakhouse located in the castle but did not eat there as it is open only for dinner. It was a beautiful room.Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 3, 2023
- ALB215Hong Kong, China64 contributionsTicket at the door is cheaperI thought about buying tickets online, but glad that I didn't. The ticket price per person is $40 plus an additional "$4.49 fee". But it doesn't say anything about what this "fee" is about!! My wife and I ended up buying the tickets at the door, which is exactly $40 per person, without the fee. The visit itself is nice. We love the history and decor and everything in it. We spent about 2 hours there. The audio guide can be downloaded into your phone, which we did. But since I didn't have my headphone, I have to hold it next to my ear, which is not too bad. There is a coffee shop in the basement, which is quite nice. The washrooms/toilets are also very clean.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 12, 2023
- wayne BMaryborough, Australia49 contributionsAmazing buildingWe had a great time exploring the castle and learning about the history of this beautiful building and surrounding gardens. Making our way through the tunnels and up to the lookout areas and taking in all the amazing rooms on all the floors. We also were amazed at how many movies have been filmed there, some very well known ones. It is very popular and lots of people come to visit so it can get quite crowded. Overall very impressive and very enjoyable attraction.Visited June 2023Written July 17, 2023
- Dee28 contributionsGorgeous Castle and GroundsBeautiful castle with gorgeous gardens. We really enjoyed seeing the furniture and accessories. It was very crowded and hard for a handicap person to navigate. Please note that unless you park in the paid parking lot, you will have to climb a very steep walkway to the castle. Unfortunately, Casa Loma does not maintain that walkway and there are huge weeds hanging over the walkway and it is very hazardous.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 21, 2023
- TeammilitelloDes Moines, Iowa1,856 contributionsDon’t miss the tunnels that lead to Celebrity WalkMy teenagers loved the section that shows wax figures of famous Canadians. (But where was Justin Bieber?!) We found it easier to download the audio guide, and then listen to the history at my own pace (rather than scanning it at every room). I liked how my online tickets let me enter at my convenience (& not being stuck to a particular timeframe). Casa Loma is truly a gem!Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 21, 2023

The staff were not only helpful but professional! The food from cocktails through to dinner was Michelin star rated. Our guests were extremely impressed with the complete experience. - Czar EmmanuelManila, Philippines9,564 contributionsGood imitation of medieval castlesThis huge structure, built by and once the residence of Sir Henry Pellatt in the early 20th century, does not fall short of the grandeur and majesty of medieval castles and residences. Its 98 rooms to visit as well as its external structures, gardens, towers, etc. will leave you open-mouthed. Exploring them will transport you back in time although Casa Loma is a modern construction. Every single room is exquisitely decorated. Once you're done exploring the whole place, you can relax and have some meal in its restaurant in the gardens. Highly recommended!Visited August 2023Traveled soloWritten August 12, 2023

This had the potential for a fabulous experience but there are some kinks that need to be ironed out. To start off, we were made to wait outside (it's February!) for almost half an hour due to congestion at the front check in. We got our wrist bands and then lined up for another 30 minutes outside the library where we were to have tea. There was a 1.5 hour time limit on your seating and this waiting time cut into that. It would have made so much more sense to have the one 'check in' just before the library entrance. The crumpets were terrible but the rest of the food was good; nothing like a traditional afternoon tea offering but nicely presented. There was a lovely woman playing violin and harp but she really needed a mic as you couldn't hear her at all. We found the service to be excellent but noticed that very few bothered with a gratuity as it was a pre-paid arrangement which I thought was a bit unfair. With taxes, it was $45.00 pp which included full access to the castle so definitely good value in spite of the $15.00 parking charge. I would definitely go again but would like to see them improve the logistics as it was quite hard on the mobility impaired/elderly in the line ups.

This is probably the worst high tea I have ever been to. First off, it's not cheap. For $45, I expect better quality of food. The cakes at Costco tastes better than theirs. The finger foods were average.
Next is the service. The service was ridiculously bad. I had a server shake my elbow and pushed my elbow away to grab my plate. THAT IS NOT ALLOWED. A server also came around and poured the wrong tea to everyone at the table and also did not pour tea for me at all. None of the servers knew what the desserts were. When asked, they would say it's a coconut cake when it is actually a passionfruit cake or he said it's raspberry crumble while it's apple crumble. What if people were allergic? Another server came around asking if we were finished. There were still food on our plate so of course we were not finished. I was halfway eating while a server insisted that I pick a dessert. My mouth was full so how am I supposed to talk? They also took away all the plates so we had to put our dessert on the table cloth. Horrible service for the price that we paid for.
DON'T GO. Spend your money either buying your own desserts elsewhere or enjoy high tea at any other place but Casa Loma

We came here when the weather was bad around Christmas and had a lovely few hours. It was decorated for Christmas so it looked very festive and there was different tree decorations in every room. The castle (even though not a castle) is very historic and formative but when we visited it was full of little school kids so you couldn’t really concentrate. I think if it wasn’t so nicely decorated for Christmas it wouldn’t of been as interesting as I think the price was very high for what it is. We got the hop on bus here so it was ideal for dropping/picking up after

Visited during the Nutcracker Christmas Event with my mother and daughter. The castle was beautifully decorated and well kept. We did our own tour and read all the plaques for information about each room...very interesting. We ate lunch in the cafe which was very good and you could tell the food was freshly made. My only complaint would be that after paying almost $100 admission for the three of us, there was also a $15 parking fee which I thought was a bit much. Overall, it was a good visit and worth the trip!

I've never taken a trip in a castle, and this was my first. The outside is just beautiful. I loved the audio definitions of each room, it kept me so interested and informed. I love how you can venture to the top of both ends of the castle too! Highly recommend visiting here if you want a museum sort of day, I spent about 4 hours in here walking around!

I always wanted to come back to Casa Loma at Christmas time since I haven’t been in over 25 years . I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. For one the parking is $15 and that’s expensive. It’s already $40 for adults. So to pay $100 for 2 adults for an attraction that took us an hour to finish is not worth it. The rooms are decorated beautifully with trees and decor but after a while it gets repetitive. They had a 15 minute magic show outside but it’s geared to kids. On the lame side. They had story time with a bunch of kids listening to a guy dressed as an elf. Not a good thing to be doing during COVID, no social distancing. You do fill out a QR code on a machine before entering. They do not ask for proof of vaccination which I don’t understand because it’s a tourist attraction and your indoors like a movie theatre, hockey game or concert. They have a cafeteria which you have to show proof of vaccination and a gift shop.I liked the tunnel. They had Christmas music playing throughout with lights, live action on the walls and in picture frames. But once you enter that’s your way out. There’s lots of stairs, not sure if there are elevators. I’m glad I went but I would not be going back.

This is a rare beautiful treat for the Toronto area but it was $75.00 ($60 for 2 adult tickets and $15 to park) just to walk through the door. Then they don't offer "in and out" privledges so eat before you go because the food is pricey as well.
They offer a CAA discount but no military discount which is bizarre given that Sir Henry Pellatt was a former Commanding Officer of The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada and the third floor of the castle is a dedicated military museum.

My husband and I visited while all the Halloween decor was up. Due to covid, the haunted house wasn’t open BUT you could still walk through (minus the gardens- which is fine because it was fairly cold) and look at everything. The tunnels were terrifying and fun to walk through. There are some really beautiful rooms here and lots of military history. The restaurant downstairs is awesome as well (a little pricey but it’s to be expected with most attractions so we didn’t mind - plus it’s seriously so tasty!) and I highly recommend popping in for a snack. Hear me out, I personally find it hard to find good fries that actually have flavour and Casa Loma pulls through. My husband had the poutine and I just had fries and oh man, they were delicious! The staff is also very friendly! Definitely stop by if you have the chance.

Tucked in the middle of a modern city, lies this beautiful castle which would instantly transport you back in time! From the moment you enter this magnificent castle you get to take a glimpse of a place frozen in time. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the majestic architecture will leave you awestruck!
The first things that we would recommend is go to the basement, watch the movies about the castle and take the audio tour equipment and a map. You can then take your time to explore the castle at your own pace. Each point of interest is well marked and numbered. By pressing the number in the audio tour equipment, you get to know the story behind it (did you know at one point there were 80 servants for just 2 people!!!)
Form the attic to the tunnels, the coffee shop to the Escape Rooms, we would definitely recommend that visiting this place!

The staff was very friendly, and the building is impressive from the outside, but the inside was super-crowded and many of the halls/rooms had an old, stuffy smell. The view from the tower was the best part and at least there wasn't a long line for that. Would not pay regular admission to do this. I had purchased a CityPass for other activities, and this was included in the CityPass price; otherwise I wouldn't have visited. Oh, and don't bother with the walk to the end of the tunnel... complete waste of steps!

Does General Admission mean you have to come for the time on your tickets? I got tickets online but had no way of choosing a time at all. Thought it said it’s from 9:30-5 so thought it would mean the ticket was valid for that length of time. But online it says tickets are time slotted. But confiused

Sorry......You would have to contact the attraction. However, considering the American dollar is 20% better than our loonie I think THAT is a pretty good discount.
