Authorities Ask For Public's Help Finding Missing Hudson Valley Teens

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The New York State Police in Cortlandt and the Yorktown Police Department are searching for two teenagers reported missing by their families.

17-year-old Evelyn Jimenez and 15-year-old Violet Munroe were last seen on May 12, in the city of Peekskill. They have also been known to frequent the White Plains area.

In an alert, the Yorktown Police Department said it has been working around the clock with the New York State Police and other law enforcement agencies, in an attempt to locate Munroe and Jimenez.

Friends of the Monroe family have started a GoFundMe campaign in the hopes of raising money to offer a reward for help finding the missing teen.

"Hi, my name is Lisa Melillo and I am raising money for my dear friend Nicole Munroe. Her daughter, Violet, has been missing since Saturday, May 11th. Our goal is to raise money so that Violet's family can offer a reward to help find her. No amount is too small., Violet was last seen in Peekskill on Sunday morning. The family has since received leads in White Plains. Violet is a student in the Lakeland School District in Putnam Valley, NY., Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

So far, the campaign has raised $7,315 of a $10,000 goal.
