Lansing Reviews
Rating 3.61 out of 5 111 reviews
In the environment of Lansing, everyone seems to be easygoing, friendly, and most of all safe. As a public community walking to and from school, especially after a long game day, my surroundings could not be more than secure. The community comes together for one another in tough times. My school which is in the heart of Lansing is a prime example of pulling through and standing up for each other. Although there are changes to see. While being almost pedestrian-friendly there needs to be sidewalks available where needed most and bike-friendly, especially for students in this tight-knit town.
I lived in Lansing for 35 years, but my wife lived there for about 45. Crime is on the increase, village officials clearly don't have accountability and schools are on a downward spiral. It's simply not safe, nor conducive to our family's well-being. Police are on ego trips, and may show up for calls. Good luck getting a supervisor. Clearly police vs resident (black or white) attitude. We escaped and live in a much more peaceful and welcoming town.
Over the years, I sadly have watched a once safe, friendly town, make a turn for the worst. Thankfully I look back on my childhood in this town very fondly. However, over the years the schools, housing, and shops have just gone downhill.
