Obsidian Fury: Power-10 Armor-7 Speed-9
Drone Jaeger: Power-5 Armor-5 Speed-8
Would drone jaegers have been better for security? Considering they were being built and implemented fast . Did they have the potential to replace human jaeger pilots ? Could they have stood their ground effectively against kaijus ?
Honestly I think they would be able to take on some Kaiju, but because of the Precursors intelligence and adaptiveness with their Kaiju, they would soon start making Kaiju specifically for fighting the Drones.
Perhaps a Kaiju with resistant armor to tank the sidewinder missles and an EMP attack because the Drones seem to be as digital as they get. Kaiju gets mobbed by a pair or trio of Drones? Just EMP them then take them out like sitting ducks.
They could possibly be used as a last resort or support though, that’d be more effective as the Kaiju would likely be built for taking on the first combatants.
Do you remember in Pacific rim 1, that 1 kaiju had Emp blast power which was only survived by gipsy for being nuclear powered. I believe in battle when the emp was blasted the jaeger that blacked out was the one controlled by a father son duo
Yes, exactly, Striker was digital, hence why the EMP was extremely effective. An EMP attack could easily render any Drones in the area defenseless.
That's when you know the director failed to show Pacific rim 2 as a sequel to part 1. Once when the ppdc knew their digital jaegers are useless because precursors are now making kaiju with emp attack, they still gave a multi billion dollar contract to shao industries to make a dozen digital jaegers, seriously? 🤣
I think drones will be deployed for lesser kaijus that is category 3 and below , anything above category 3 would require human assistance, what do you think ? These AI jaegers , i don't think they can take down a category 5 .
It really depends on the Kaiju. Cat 4s and 5s could definantly shred them, but a well built Cat 3 or even 2 could take them on I think. Because of how many Drone’s there are, I feel like they could be seen as semi-expendable, so they’re probably quite a bit weaker than PPDC Jaegers
They are still billion dollar machines, so I don't think they would be expendable in any way, they are built like jaegers but don't look strong enough
The one thing I don't understand about precursors, they can easily make their kaijus . Why don't they just patiently wait for a while and make like 4-5 category 5 or 6 kaijus , then send them to kill, they would easily destroy the handful of jaegers
Not sure, maybe they just like to roll with sending as many as they can as fast as the Breach can handle.
Just imagine, if precursors had sent an emp kaiju in Pacific rim 2 , all the jaegers would have been left useless except gipsy, the precursors missed this opportunity 😂 seriously.
