This thread is a user guide to the new British Airways LGW (London Gatwick) South Terminal. Operations for BA's service in LGW transferred on 25 January 2017 from the North terminal. The purpose of this guide is to assist passengers in locating the services and facilities in LGW South. Background to the move here: BA move to LGW South Terminal

Can anyone advise if Fastrack at the BA terminal has the new scanners, and if so will they unofficially allow liquids >100ml like The First Wing does? Got a rare pool holiday coming up and wanted to go hand luggage only but Ill need to take a few bottles of sun tan lotion with me for the family.

Thanks for the reply. I suppose we are very fortunate in the UK in that airports here, unlike most other countries, charge quite a reasonable price plus of course you can do click&collect for Boots at their normal High Street prices for 4.50.

for the moment though there is certainly nothing premium about the experience at all.

and, of course, if you are travelling north towards London you can simply tap in-and-out using a credit or debit card. Making sure you use the same one at each end of your journey.

New scanners at LGW
I was supposed to be flying from LHR today so have a lot of liquids in my cabin bag. For a number of reasons Im now flying from LGW. Are there any new scanners at LGW in the premium lane or is it all still old school and Ill need to check a bag?

as of last week there was still no dedicated fast track scanning at South terminal. The fast track line merely feeds into the left-hand standard scanning queue, much to the chagrin of those already in it. It looks as though new scanners were being installed the other side of glass screens which proudly had Gatwick premium plastered all over them.
for the moment though there is certainly nothing premium about the experience at all.

Standard security at LGW is very well marshalled and very quick. As I've said before, when there's a cruise charter going out or it's ski season and all the lombards are going through fast track I'll often just divert to standard.
Would have been turn left to the Grain Store after the tunnel, but I guess it'll be Pizza Express now. No sweat.
