PAGASA – Tropical Depression Vicky To Affect Parts Of Visayas This December 18, 2020

PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day December 18, 2020 (Friday).

The latest update from the state weather bureau says that the low pressure area or LPA off Davao City has developed into a tropical depression before Friday morning and is set to bring rains, gusty winds over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.

The weather disturbance, identified as Tropical Depression Vicky, was last spotted at 220 kilometers east of Davao City. It was packed with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 55 kilometers per hour. It is moving west northwestward at 15 kilometers per hour, according to GMA News.

Meanwhile, Central and Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Southern Leyte, and Zamboanga del Norte will face rains with gusty winds brought about by the tropical depression. Flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

Bicol Region, Marinduque, Romblon, Mindoro Provinces, and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will face cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the Tail – end of a Cold Front and tropical depression. Again, flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains. Flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

The rest of Luzon will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to amihan.

Based on the report, for the wind speed forecast, Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao will have moderate to strong winds that are moving in the northeast to east direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Mindanao will face light to moderate winds that are moving in the northeast to northwest direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
