Jae-Ha Kim Jae-Ha Kim (Substack) Helmed by writer Kim Eun-Sook and director Lee Eung-Bok, the misleadingly named "Mr. Sunshine" does a beautiful job of juggling multiple story lines that are full of suspense, intrigue and achingly quiet romance. Rated: 3.5/4 Jul 27, 2023 Full Review Kourtnee Jackson CNET Mr. Sunshine is one of the most highly rated K-dramas in the genre. Mar 21, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Phil H Fantastic story set in a time period which is glossed over by the Western historians, yet is so important for the people living on the Korean peninsular. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/30/23 Full Review Elsa S Acting, writing, cinematography are perfection. This is a romance and action drama *spoiler no kisses* that make you feel everything. It has a grand character study of Eugene Choi and the themes of Nationalism in Joseon. The best Korean Drama of all time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/29/23 Full Review Jeremy Superb. Too long and too many ‘romance' scenes but dramatic and fascinating story set in Korea as Japanese control develops. Strongly recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/23 Full Review Alice J Mr Sunshine is a masterpiece drama featuring an interesting and unique story, a top-notch cast, beautiful cinematography & costumes and a great OST. The first episode might be a little confusing because it introduces a lot of characters and the timelines aren't clear, but stick with it. There are character charts online, which might help. All the characters are memorable and one of the standouts is Go Aeshin, a noblewoman and secret freedom fighter, who's played by the supremely talented and beautiful Kim Taeri. Mr Sunshine is one of the highest rated dramas of all time in South Korea and if you watch it you'll see why. It's one of my all-time favourite Kdramas and I've rewatched it many times, so I thoroughly recommend it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/14/23 Full Review RC F Amazing, this is so multi layered, I don't know where to start. It has a bit of a Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon in the female lead. The setting is very unique, it captures Korea at a time of profound change and oppression. I think there is so much more inherent tension in a time without phones. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/15/23 Full Review Queen Dolly P Super underrated kdrama !!! You should watch this! The ending was so beautiful yet so painful! This drama was really really good!!
