This mount is exactly what you see here and it looks very striking in person, especially if you have a newer sleek TV to show off! My old 55" LCD fits perfectly and does not need the wall connecting strap at all; the stand is as sturdy as a tripod should be. The only thing I would mention is that I think it would only really work well if you don't have a cable box and a bunch of other components connected to your TV. It's all about minimalism for this one so if you have perhaps cut the cord and only use a Roku or something like that it's perfect. You wont have a bunch of cords back there to take away from the look. Speaking of cords, I would suggest forgetting all about the little cord managing clips they provide and getting some nice velcro straps to hold one or two cords to that back leg. The clips are a bit flimsy, as you might expect, and are kind of a pain to install. You'll probably also want to think of a cord management solution along the wall/floor. I recommend this TV stand. Came in well packaged box with all parts included and clearly labeled. I had been considering how to get my TV near the window for TV and air antenna placement without blocking my window view or preventing window opening. This worked perfectly and the height adjustments are as advertised. The directions were sequential, had great diagrams and the parts for each sequence was on the top of each page. Before choosing the stand, I had watched a couple utubes and videos about stands to get an idea of what was involved and was able to put it together with this background prep and the good directions. The brake locks work well and it does seem secure. Fedex and Wayfair delivery notifications worked perfectly as always. The price was excellent for the value and fits my needs. So... when the package arrived it looked pretty beat up and I thought "uh-oh" here we go. When I opened the package however (and inventoried the parts) I was very relieved to see that nothing was damaged and all of the parts were intact. The box is labeled at 119 pounds weight and the packing of the parts is impressive - in a way that would awe the best Tetris master. I am accustomed to woodworking and found the instructions to be VERY clear and all parts well-labeled to match the assembly directions. I was quite pleased with the way the cam locks fit with the bolts, which is not always the case with products using that method. The quality of the materials is top-notch for something at this price point and the assembly went very smoothly. It took me about 2+ hours at a leisurely pace. The mitered joints in the glass doors and base are dead-on and gives an appearance of quality. Furthermore, I really appreciated the euro-style hinges which allow adjustment of the gaps around the doors. As such I was able to dial in the gap all around the doors to again, give a better end result. We purchased the "ebony" finish which actually blended quite nicely with our dark cherry dining room set. So to summarize I was very impressed with the quality, price, and experience. I bought this for our new 55” TV because we rent and did not want to mount to the wall. It is a great alternative to wall mounting. The stand was pretty easy to assemble. I was able to do it my self. Mounting the TV was pretty easy also, but I did need help due to the weight and size of the TV. I am glad I had read previous reviews so I knew that the base is assembled upside down before assembling the post. It is pretty sturdy, but the swivel is rather loose. I live in 1-bedroom apartment so I don't have much living room space but wanted something compact that didn't take a lot of floor space and also provided a way to mount a TV (I've got a 55-inch on this stand) but also have some room for assorted audio gear. This TV stand was ideal for my space. While I don't have all the equipment placed on it yet, there's plenty of shelf space for my needs. The box it came in was heavy with most of the weight coming from the tempered glass shelves. Assembly was fairly easy and took about an hour. The instructions are straight forward but you'll find yourself referring to the pictures as you're putting it together. Once assembled, it's pretty sturdy.
