Q&A
Shrek is a blue collar ogre movie, but it's fantasy not sci fi.
That was a typo. Meant to be "other"
Moon (2009)
How could I forget about that movie. Thanks!
Tremors.
Came here to say this, that is THE blue-collar sci-fi movie
I think Interstellar should be added since Cooper is a farmer when he gets enlisted by NASA, and his farm and farming in general are a big part of the plot.
Awesome list! I think Space is The Place fits. They are trying to get predominantly working class Black people to outer space - https://boxd.it/1KBo
You might be able to make a case for Starship Troopers as well.
I weirdly think Aliens is more blue collar than Alien.
It's a different kind of blue collar. A military blue collar.
I immediately thought of Total Recall, though it's only the first 20 minutes.
Space Sweepers, Serenity, 5th Element, Ice Pirates. There's a new animated movie Mars Express that fits the bill too.
I feel like Independence Day might be a good fit. But I also don’t know what “Ogre” means, so apologies if it doesn’t work!
That's a typo. It's supposed to say "other."
Ah, thank you!! That was genuine btw, I made a mistake recently, not understanding what “limited animation” meant, so I’m being more careful about offering suggestions now😅
Super Mario Bros. (1993)
Maximum Overdrive.
Flight of the Navigator
Repo Man (1984)
