DENVER (KDVR) — “Happy Gilmore 2” is coming to Netflix soon, but you won’t see all of the original cast. The alligator that stole Adam Sandler’s golf ball in the nearly 30-year-old film won’t be on set, because he’s living out his retirement in Colorado.

Talks of a sequel to “Happy Gilmore” have been making the rounds in recent months with Sandler letting slip that he was “working on some stuff” for “Happy 2” on the Dan Patrick Show in April.

While hints of the film have been released, not much else is known about the sequel. What we do know, however, is that the alligator accused of biting off the hand of Chubbs (played by Carl Weathers) and wresting Happy Gilmore (Sandler) for a golf ball in the first movie won’t be making another appearance.

The gator, whose name is Morris, is 60 years old. In his younger years, he starred in many films, including “Dr. Dolittle 2,” “Interview with the Vampire,” “Eraser,” “Blues Brothers 2000” and more.

Morris was a star because of his aggressive behavior, seen in “Happy Gilmore,” with his feisty chomping and hissing.

According to Colorado Gators Reptile Park in Mosca, many alligators in the park aren’t dangerous. That’s not true of Morris, who is the most dangerous one.

But his aggressive charisma ended up being his downfall.

Colorado Gators told Nexstar’s KDVR that Morris was forced to retire after he tore up the set of the ’90s sitcom “Coach.”

He’s now living out the rest of his years — which could be as long as 100 — in the Centennial State. While he will be in retirement for the sequel, he’s expected to still be alive for the premiere.
