The northbound lanes of the M50 have been fully closed as emergency services are dealing with a ‘serious collision’.
Motorists are being warned to expect ‘severe’ delays which are expected to last into the afternoon.
The M50 northbound remains closed between Junction 6 Blanchardstown and Junction 7 Lucan with diversions in place at the Lucan exit.
Gardaí have blocked off the road are turning around traffic and sending it back to J7.
‘Gardaí and emergency services continue to attend a road traffic collision on the M50,’ gardaí said on X.
‘Diversions remain in place and traffic disruptions on and around the M50 and connected roads are expected to continue into the afternoon.’
Live Drive said: ‘Severe delays of 90 minutes from J10 (Ballymount). Southbound delays of 30 minutes from J4 (Ballymun). Finglas Road collision at Glasnevin causing delays.
The M50 account on X said: ‘All lanes have closed N’bound at J7 Lucan due to a serious collision before J6 Blanch. Emergency services are on scene diverting traffic off at J7. Please avoid the area if possible.’
Dublin Airport warned passengers intending to use the motorway on their way to the airport to make alternative plans.
