Chris Pratt has faced backlash after excluding ex-wife Anna Faris from his Mother's Day post.

In a heartfelt Instagram tribute, Chris celebrated the influential mothers in his life this past weekend, but conspicuously left out his ex-wife Anna, causing a stir among fans.

Joining the ranks of celebrities honoring moms on this day, the Guardians of the Galaxy star expressed his admiration for the remarkable women who have shaped him.

He lavished praise on his current spouse Katherine Schwarzenegger and his mother Kathy Pratt, yet noticeably omitted Anna, mother to their son Jack, age 11.

In his touching social media share, Chris posted a collection of endearing selfies to his 45 million followers, affectionately writing: "Happy Mother's Day to all the mamas out there!

"Love to my Mom Kathy who set a high bar for her love, patience, humor, and joy in motherhood. And a special thank you my darling Katherine for all you do."

The Jurassic World star went on: "Witnessing you be a mom to Lyla and Eloise and a stepmom to Jack makes me fall more and more in love with you every day.

"The 24/7 job of scheduling, transporting, loving, nurturing, managing calendars, planning activities, the nutrition, the boundaries, the rules, the patience, the gentleness, the firmness, the wisdom, and grace. It's truly a marvel."

Yet, as fans wiped away tears over his heartfelt tribute, many couldn't overlook the apparent omission of Anna, especially since Chris has acknowledged her in past Mother's Day tributes.

The oversight sparked a backlash among some of Chris' followers, with one fan commenting: "Happy Mother's Day to your first baby mumma too."

Another remarked: "he should have posted the other MOTHER of his child."

While a third chimed in: "Wait, so the other mom that birthed and raises your kid doesn't get a shout just because you remarried? Weird."

Despite the wave of criticism, an outpouring of support also emerged in Chris' comments section, with fans rallying behind the actor's decision to exclude his ex, suggesting it was out of respect for his current wife.

A supporter stated: "I don't need nor want recognition from my ex on Mother's Day.. my kids tell me, my now husband does.. yall are cray for thinking he should acknowledge his ex. Not his responsibility anymore."

Another person also offered their two cents on the matter, stating: "Y'all, as an ex-wife, not all of us want some public post from our ex. And as a current wife, I wouldn't want my husband posting one. No need to slam the guy."

A third fan echoed these sentiments, adding: "I hope people who are upset with him not including Ana also go on her page and leave nasty comments about her not including him in Father's Day posts."
