Tony Hawk skates with fans at Denver Skatepark

The Birdman showed up at the Denver Skate Park on Thursday and Friday, according to skaters who were there.

DENVER — A handful of skaters in Denver got the surprise on a lifetime this week: the opportunity to skate with one of the best of all time.

Tony Hawk was spotted at the Denver Skatepark on Thursday and Friday.

"I looked up and this really tall dude skated past me," said Ezra Adams, who was at the skatepark near 20th and Little Raven streets both days. "I was like, is that Tony Hawk?"

Adams said the Birdman was at the park for about 30 minutes on Thursday and came back Friday morning for about an hour and a half.

Hawk skated with the people who where there, signed autographs and even gave other skaters pointers.

Eleven-year-old Allister Cutler said Hawk signed his skateboard and gave him a Tony Hawk Funko Pop.

"He was super chill, and he wasn't mean," Cutler said. "Because usually when you meet pros, they are super mean, and they don't like to, I guess, have all the crowds. But he was nice, and he was teaching people how to skate and stuff. He was super nice."

Hawk also visited Casa Bonita while he was in town, posting photos and videos of the iconic restaurant to his Instagram story. The photos seem to imply he was celebrating his son Keegan's graduation from CU Boulder.
