J’s Martin 0021NY

This is a shot in the dark here, but I’m reaching out to the community to see if anyone knows where J’s Martin from the Official Reverb shop about 7 years ago went. I’m always hoping it’ll turn up somewhere but I imagine it went to a collector somewhere. He used it a lot for live shows. I wonder why he went away from those slotted Martins, it has such a great look and sound. Here’s to hoping it turns up one day!

Edit - I typed that so fast I didn’t see the link haha I don’t think that’s the Martin from Martin and me … I remember reading it was broken / nearly destroyed but he did sell it ! I hope I’m right or I’m losing my mind a little🤔

I tried to buy that ! Someone beat me - I think it was circa $2500 - but I thought it would be awesome to own and frame (it was behind his friends door who smashed it basically ) all this I remember off the top of my head so may be a little wrong ??

For me that was just a clearance of shit J never really used ! But that was the hidden gem .

I’ve only seen one pedal come up on eBay that was connected to that sale and not seen anyone on fan boards with any of the stuff.

Long story short I guess I would love to know too !

I think it sold for $4K in the end but I’m sure it got offers! I was in high school then so that was out of the question. I would get it fixed up and play it till my dying day. You’re right, what a gem of a guitar, especially in J’s acoustic career. Love seeing it front and center in the Copenhagen show on YouTube.

I’ve never seen a piece from the collection come up either. Maybe if we’re lucky he’ll do another cleaning out! I live in the same town as J so I always just check the local music stores thinking, “Well let’s see if he decided to sell something cool.” Haha nothing yet.

He has an eBay account ! But he’s never sold anything 😂 I remember when you could see what he had bought a few of us use to talk about it on the old forums
