The Rangers replacement Celtic don't want to see start in place of 'unhappy' Todd Cantwell

Cammy Bell hasn't seen enough from Cantwell in recent weeks to justify starting for Philippe Clement at Parkhead this weekend.

Todd Cantwell has looked "unhappy" at Rangers in recent weeks and Tom Lawrence should start ahead of him this weekend, according to one pundit.

Philippe Clement takes his team across town to face Celtic in a clash the Light Blues really need to win if they are to retain a realistic hope of pipping their rivals to the title. Gers are without a derby win so far this season, and Brendan Rodgers' men are favourites to avoid defeat and go on to lift a third successive Premiership crown.

Former Ibrox goalkeeper Cammy Bell reckons his former club's best chance of a result is perhaps playing Lawrence ahead of Cantwell, and definitely starting Dujon Sterling. Lawrence came off the bench against Kilmarnock at the weekend and fired in a brilliant third goal to make the points safe against Derek McInnes' ten men. And he just hasn't seen enough from Cantwell to justify a first Xi slot at Parkhead on Saturday lunchtime.

"It's difficult, they've got injuries but they can't dwell on that, they need to deal with the injuries they've got. A positive from the weekend was Tom Lawrence coming back, I think he's a brilliant, brilliant player," Bell told Superscoreboard.

"Todd Cantwell's not done enough for me again. He just looks a little bit out of form, a little bit unhappy at the moment. I think Lawrence brings a little bit more control and spark.

"Sterling's got to start for me, you get a good, solid performance from him every single game so you've got to find a place on the pitch for him. Philippe Clement's got a big job on his hands because he's got to find a team and formation that's gonna win him the game."

Former Celtic forward Simon Donnelly admitted Lawrence is the player those of a Celtic persuasion would gladly see on the bench. He added: "I think fitness is the obvious thing that's hindered Tom Lawrence most of the time he's been at Rangers. But I think he's got the quality that could possibly hurt. The way he takes that goal at the weekend, I don't think there's many in that Rangers team that can do that, so I just think it's down to fitness.

"He'd be the one I wouldn't be looking, from a Celtic point of view, to be on the starting XI because if he gets it in the final third, he's got the quality and is more than capable."
