‘A Simple Favor’ triumphs on Netflix in the US

The movie follows a small-town vlogger Stephanie (Kendrick) who tries to solve the disappearance of her elegant and mysterious friend Emily (Lively). However, when she starts digging into her past, she will find some surprising information.

Apart from the two leads, the cast also includes Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Linda Cardellini, Rupert Friend, and Jean Smart. Apart from being a success at the box office, the movie also received positive reviews, particularly praising the performances of the leads, as well as the plot.

Thanks to the good results of the first one, Amazon is now behind a sequel, which will be released directly to Prime Video. Fieg returns as director, with Kendrick and Lively reprising her roles, as well as Henry Golding and Andrew Rannells also returning. Meanwhile, Allison Janney also joined the cast.

According to Variety, the sequel will follow Stephanie and Emily as they travel to the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s grand wedding to a rich Italian businessman. Among the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to join the party, making this wedding full of more twists and turns than the road from Marina Grande to Capri’s town square.
