Michael Douglas’ son Cameron Douglas has filed for joint custody of the two children he shares with estranged wife Vivian Thibes.
The 45-year-old Cameron, the only son of Michael Douglas, 79, and his first wife Diandra Luker, proposed sharing both custody and legal responsibilities for the kids, according to legal documents obtained by People.
They share Lua Izzy, 6, and Ryder Thibes, 3, with Douglas proposing a parenting plan that would give them both joint legal custody.
This comes after Cameron’s father Michael admitted he sometimes is mistaken for his children’s grandfather.
Visitation time will be allowed for both while the kids are with the other parent, with the exes splitting times with their kids twice a week.

The plan includes alternating weekends and holiday, and each parent must get the other’s consent for any trips with the children outside of California.
Both parents would also be required to consult each other in regards to their children’s, ‘schooling, health and wellness decisions’ plus childcare.
Cameron and Vivian are also both permitted to use each other as ‘messengers’ or speak ill of the other parent around the children.
They are also prohibited from, ‘inhibit communication with the non-custodial parent at any time.’
Douglas’ filing was a response to Thibes’ petition last week for primary legal and physical custody of their two kids.
The petition allowed visitation for Douglas, while also requesting that Douglas pay all her legal fees.
Cameron served seven years in prison after pleading guilty to drug distribution charges.
He was released in 2016, with Cameron dating Vivian after his release, welcoming their daughter in 2017.

He opened up last year that he won’t hide his past from his children, revealing, ‘I’m certainly not going to try to hide anything from them.’
