Mario voice actor Chris Pratt is fully on board with the idea of a "Nintendo Cinematic Universe," and believes that the company could push on from the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 to make it a reality.

Nintendo has been pretty adventurous when it comes to diversifying its income lately, using its iconic franchises to build theme parks and produce high-quality, family-friendly movies. A lot of its exploits outside the gaming sphere have been going down a treat too, with Super Nintendo Worlds constantly opening in more territories and The Super Mario Bros. Movie making a bucket load of cash.

Mario's tropical adventure was a childhood favorite, but it took 20 years for me to finally say goodbye to Isle Delfino.

Understandably, Nintendo is building on that success by exploring more possibilities for bringing its franchises to the silver screen, and Mario actor Chris Pratt believes The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 could potentially kickstart a "Nintendo Cinematic Universe" similar to the one that he was involved in during his time as Star Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Pratt says he was a "Nintendo head" growing up, and that the idea of all the characters he loved as a kid up on the silver screen is something that he could "talk about for hours." He even goes so far as to say that there really is "no limit" to what the publisher could create, so it's safe to say that Pratt is definitely on board with the NCU.

I was such a Nintendo head growing up, so just thinking about how everything from Legend of Zelda to the entire Nintendo cinematic universe could be created and what that could look like for all of these characters that I love?

Of course, any ideas for a potential NCU would have to come from Nintendo first, which does have Super Smash Bros. in its back pocket if it does decide to go in that direction. We already have two Mario movies - which includes Donkey Kong - a Pokemon movie in Detective Pikachu, and a Legend of Zelda movie on the way, so that's seven of the original twelve right there. Now we just need Star Fox, Kirby, F-Zero, Metroid, and Earthbound movies, and then we're good to go.
