The Churchyard Sessions return for with new lineup for 2024.

The Churchyard Sessions have revealed the lineup for their 2024 series of free open air concerts.

Every Saturday from June 1 to August 31, regional and national live music acts will perform at the outdoor event, in the shadow of the 15th Century French Church on Baileys New St, in Waterford’s Viking Triangle. Also this year, every Friday will feature a live acoustic set, ‘Live at the Longboat’.

The first act of this year's Sessions will be Jerry Fish on Saturday, June 1. Fish blasted onto the Music Scene in the 1990’s touring the globe as front-man of alternative rock outfit An Emotional Fish. 

These days the artist is synonymous with festivals, carnival sideshow, circus and theatre, providing a genre bending and idiosyncratic style of entertainment. 

With two Platinum selling solo albums, an MTV award and IRMA Music Award, he has a solid reputation as a showman.

On June 8, 10-piece Motown outfit The Papa Zitas, will perform, followed by High Definition the following week. 

A Waterford five piece cover band, they specialise in a wide variety of sounds, such as rock, pop, funk and dance.

On June 22, Waterford's own Richie Hayes will perform with his band. Richie is a singer, actor, director and all round entertainer, who has appeared in Mrs Browns Boys, The Voice of Ireland and Celebrity Bainisteoir.

Closing out the month of June will be Alan & The Aftershocks, a homegrown Waterford rockabilly group.

Singer songwriter Dan Elliot will get July underway, with his sounds influenced by the likes of Foy Vance, Jamie Cullum, Bruce Springsteen and others.

Thank funk will play the following week. The 7-piece band based in Waterford specialise in playing classic funk music from the likes of Chic, Earth Wind & Fire and Michael Jackson.

On July 20, Suzie Q will perform their unique blend of pop, rock, and soul, followed by Mundy on July 27.

He will showcase his eclectic styles in music from Rock, Americana, Folk and Indie.

A special performance from Waterford’s Spraoi will kick off the August events.

Mad Ferritt will play on August 10; Ireland’s original Oasis tribute act composed of a group of musicians from the South East.

Also this month, alternative pop band Frank & Walters will perform, followed by a high octaine fusion of genres from The Unusual Suspects.

Closing this year’s Sessions will be Paddy Casey, a singer-songwriter from Dublin who has been at the forefront of the Irish music scene since releasing his debut album in 1999. 

During his career, Paddy has shared the stage with U2 on their Vertigo Tour, while also selling a week of sold out residencies in Dublin’s prestigious Olympia Theatre and RDS.
