WE LOVE WE LOVE MOMS WITH MOTHER’S DAY TOMORROW. SOME PEOPLE HAVE RESERVATIONS FOR MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH, BUT OTHERS ARE OPTING TO COOK AT HOME. WELL, IF YOU NEED SOME INSPIRATION, JACOB MURPHY HAS YOU COVERED. HE’S JOINED BY HANNAFORD CHEF DOREEN MILLS THIS MORNING, SO JACOB, GOOD MORNING. WHAT ARE YOU COOKING? YEAH. FOR NORA, WE DON’T WANT DOREEN TO GO, BUT THIS IS OUR LAST SEGMENT AND IT’S GOING TO BE A FUN ONE BECAUSE WE’VE BEEN SHOWING OFF FOOD ALL MORNING. BUT THIS TIME WE’RE GOING TO BE SHOWING OFF SOME DIFFERENT DRINKS. YOU COULD SERVE FOR YOUR MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH. SO WE’LL GO THROUGH IT. I THINK FOR YOU GUYS, IT’S GOING TO BE FROM YOUR LEFT TO YOUR RIGHT. SO SO LET’S GET RIGHT INTO IT. WELL FOR SO FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT MAY NOT DRINK EARLY IN THE MORNING OR MAY NOT DRINK AT ALL, THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO TAKE A SELTZER WATER AND KIND OF JUICE IT UP. SO WHAT I’M GOING TO DO IS START WITH SOME FRESH RASPBERRIES. I’M GOING TO TOSS THEM INTO MY LITTLE GLASSES HERE, MAYBE A LITTLE BIT OF BLACKBERRY. ME TOO. YEAH. AND ACTUALLY I’M GOING TO USE WHAT’S CALLED WE HAVE SOME MOJITO MINT HERE. SO IT’S NOT AS STRONG AS PLAIN MINT. THIS WAS NEW TO ME. I THOUGHT ALL MINT WAS JUST MINT, BUT I GUESS MOJITOS GET THEIR OWN SPECIAL KIND OF MINT. THEIR SPECIAL POTATOES ARE SPECIAL. THEY ARE SO TAKING A MODELER, OR IF YOU HAVE A SPOON AND STUFF, ALL I’M GOING TO DO IS KIND OF RELEASE THOSE JUICES AND KIND OF MASH EVERYTHING UP. SO EVEN IF YOU BRUISE THE MINT LEAF, IT KIND OF RELEASES ITS OWN. LIKE THE THE SMELL TO IT AND THE TASTE AND EVERYTHING. SO WE’RE JUST GOING TO EASILY BREAK THOSE UP A LITTLE AND THEN TAKING YOUR FAVORITE SELTZER. I HAVE SOME HANAFORD RASPBERRY LIME. POUR IT RIGHT INTO YOUR GLASSES, AS YOU KNOW. AND IT’S REALLY JUST KIND OF MAKING IT A SPECIAL DRINK IN A WAY. OH, AND IT LOOKS SO COOL TOO. YEAH. WOW. SO THIS ONE’S ALREADY GO A LITTLE LIME ON THE SIDE TOO, IF YOU WANT TO SQUEEZE A LITTLE. MOM WOULD LOVE THIS ACTUALLY. AND IT’S SO REFRESHING. RIGHT. SO A NICE REFRESHING LIGHT DRINK. MHM. THE NEXT ONE WE’RE TALKING ABOUT IS ACTUALLY CALLED AGUA FRESCA. SO USING FRESH FRUIT YOU’RE KIND OF MAKING YOUR OWN JUICE AT HOME WITH JUST YOU KNOW I’VE USED SOME FROZEN PINEAPPLE AND FROZEN MANGO SOME WATER AND A LITTLE BIT OF NATURAL SWEETENER LIKE THIS ONE HAS SOME MAPLE SIRUP IN IT, BUT IF YOU WANT YOU CAN USE AGAVE SIRUP, YOU KNOW, AND JUST YOU GET TO CONTROL HOW SWEET YOU WANT THAT. YEAH, THE MAPLE SIRUP WAS A GOOD IDEA WHEN YOU WERE PUTTING THAT IN. I WAS LIKE, OH, THAT’S A GOOD, SWEET IDEA. YES. AND AGAIN, TO LIKE, IT’S JUST A NICE LIGHT, REFRESHING. YEAH. DRINK FOR MOM AS WELL. BUT ONE OF MY FAVORITES AND WHAT I, I’M TRYING TO BRING BACK THIS SUMMER IS WHAT’S CALLED THE BELLINI, WHICH IS ACTUALLY PROSECCO POURED OVER YOUR FAVORITE JUICE. YOU CAN PEACH IS TRADITIONAL, BUT FOR THIS ONE, I’M ACTUALLY USING OUR BLUEBERRY JUICE. AND THIS IS THE FUN PART IS WE ARE TALKING ABOUT HOW YOU TRY TO POP THE CORKS AND EVERYTHING. OH YES. SO LET ME PLAY IN IT. OH, LOOK AT THAT. WELL, THAT WAS A LITTLE ANTICLIMACTIC. BIOCLIMATIC, BUT WE HAVE THE BIG JAR PROSECCO AT HOME. EXACTLY. ENJOY. SO AGAIN, TO JUST SHARING THAT PROSECCO, WHICH IS HONESTLY VERY MUCH LIKE CHAMPAGNE. IT’S JUST THE ITALIAN, UM, SPARKLE WINE. NICE. OKAY, SO WE HAVE SOME OPTIONS HERE. EXACTLY. UM, I GUESS WE SHOULD GIVE A CHEERS. YES, I’M GONNA GRAB THIS ONE. YES, PLEASE. I GUESS I’LL GRAB THIS ONE. THIS ONE LOOKS REALLY GOOD. ALL RIGHT, SO IF I MAY SHOUT OUT TO ZEBA, PAM MILLS MERRILY. ZEBA, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO YOU AND ALL MY MOM FRIENDS OUT THERE. YES, AND HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO MY MOM TOO, CINDY. I KNOW SHE WATCHES ME EVERY MORNING AND I APPRECIATE HER SUPPORT EVERY DAY. AND SHE’S HELPED ME TO GET WHERE I AM TODAY. SO MOMS, MOMS, THEY JUST HAVE HAVE A WAY OF DOING THAT, DON’T THEY? EXACTLY, EXACTLY. CHEERS. MM. OH, THAT IS GOOD. I’M GONNA BE MAKING THIS TOMORROW. NICE AND LAST. BEFORE WE GO, PEOPLE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR RECIPE IDEAS. A LOT OF THESE RECIPES WERE ON THE ITEMS THEMSELVES. YES, BUT THEY CAN ALSO GO ON HANNAFORD.COM. YEP. Mother’s Day is all about letting mom do less, even kids can tackle some of these brunch recipes

Mother’s Day is all about letting mom do less, even kids can tackle some of these brunch recipes.Hannaford’s resident chef Dorene Mills paid WMTW a visit to share some delicious recipes for Sunday. To her, the recipes are all about making the experience as hands-off for mom as she wants it. "I was thinking of some recipes that I could easily tell my kids how to make and not necessarily have to be there with them to make it," she said.Starting with a brunch board, something that doesn’t require much of any prep. On her brunch board, Dorene had cheeses, croissants, bagels, fruits, and yogurt. The ingredients can be swapped out based on mom’s preferences, but if you just spend some time putting the ingredients together nicely it can be a great way to spoil mom. "That way, mom can come along and just graze, and just kind of build whatever she would like to eat at the moment," Mills said. For something a bit more involved, you can add a twist to waffles. When mixing together the batter you can mix in shredded cheese and chopped bacon to make them savory. Then, take it a step further and use the waffles to make a club sandwich; throw in some avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, and sauces of your choice."The waffle honestly is just such a fun food item," Mills said. "It really just makes a fun easy lunch for your mom."For something a bit simpler, it doesn’t get much simpler than her ham and cheese biscuit swirls. It literally just takes ham, cheese, and biscuit dough. Spread out the dough to about 4-5 inches in length, you can place the ham and cheese on top and then roll it all together. Cut it in half, and then just throw it in the oven."Ham and cheese, what's easier? The kids can easily make it. The kids are in there, they're putting their heart into it for mom, and only a few ingredients so very easy to come together," Mills said.If you think mom would prefer something lighter, why not level up Bruschetta with some shrimp added in?"This just kind of takes it up a notch, adding the cooked shrimp to it where it really actually makes it more of a meal," Mills said. Finally, Mother’s Day drinks. Mills says bellinis are a good brunch cocktail to replace mimosas. For mom’s who would prefer a non-alcoholic option grab seltzer water, muddle some blackberries or fruit of your choice into the drink, and toss in some mojito mint leaves. As a mother herself, Mills says Mother’s Day is easy to ace."Just... let her sit back. Take something off her plate for the day and just tell her you love her," she said.
