Well presumably he'll report for pre-season at the start of July, but he'll be working with a bare bones squad to start with due to the Euros and Copa America.

If we keep Nunez we will see a different man next season as he will be played in a similar role as he was at Benfica

Anyone know what date we are likely to see him with the squad? I'm sure we have some pre season matches planned, hope we give him an amazing reception, he has to be special to take on after Klopp.

We'll be playing some matches in the USA. There's usually a home friendly against an Italian team. Klopp always took the team to a German or Austrian training camp, but it's not certain if Slot will want to do that.

Feyenoord could be a possibility if we agreed on a friendly as part of the compensation, it wouldn't be the first time a team done that

We were never going to get Amorim as he plays a different style of play than what Liverpool played under Klopp

There were reports saying his agent wanted to double his release clause from Sporting late on in talks.

Interesting interview with VVD and the echo. He says he hopes that those players heading for the Euros and Copa America get a decent rest between those tournaments and returning to the club. Hints that he wants the club to have considered that. Doesn't go further but guess he means perhaps missing out on ant overseas trips to play exhibition games. Perhaps he's remembered 2 years ago and the hangover we had after missing out on a quad.

It could be hard for Arne as he won't most likely meet the core of the squad until the season begins almost. The final of both tournaments is July 14th. The new PL season begins weekending Aug 18th. (Almost guaranteed we'll either be the Friday night launch game or Saturday lunch time. (Cheers TNT)

Obviously not all the players will be in the semi finals but any that are won't be back with the squad until the week prior to the season starting you'd think.

He lasted longer than he did in his other two management jobs. Seems his style always led to burnout eventually. Being able to leave 3 management jobs on your own terms is unique in football.
There has been various gossip which I haven't believed. Likely just that he is knackered, set for life financially and wants to have decades to enjoy family time.

Speculation that Dortmund might offer him a lifetime President role. Guess that'd be like Sir Kenny's Ambassador for our club. I read Jurgen's wife Ulla is a social worker and has worked in Africa in the past. Maybe as a couple they'll do charity roles in that part of the world and elsewhere. Football can be a powerful game for helping out the disadvantaged.

Kloop mid 50s so he could have another 15 years left in him as a manger.

Part of me wanting to see him do something else is that selfishly, I want us to have been his last club managers job. He's 9 years older now than when his planned year sabbatical after leaving Dortmund, became him taking our job after 4 or 5 months.

Also, if it isn't too sacrilegious a thing to say on a football forum, he has more to give than simply being a football manager. I really like the idea of him joining his wife in charitable projects, Michael.

Players won’t get a proper rest, that’s a thing of the past. They will play their national competitions and get a wee bit extra time off then be expected to be back in training for the new season.

Then we will all be moaning in November that we have more injuries than ever and be wondering why. We are killing these guys and no one in power cares a damn.

Now 'aint that just the truth Sid, and still the powers that be look for ways to add even more matches to a season.

Spot on Sid. They've also scrapped our kind of winter break where half a PL fixture list was played one weekend in January with the other half the next. That'll make a difference to a legend like VVD for us, as he's 32 now. We can't expect him to go on like the machine week in, week out for us forever. Phenomenal he came back from the ACL injury at all. Worry is our younger centre halves are not picking up his assurance and presence quite yet.

There are 2 CL.fixtures in January next year. If any of the CL teams get to the League Cup semi finals, that's going to be a very busy month for them. I know it's controversial that FA Cup replays have been scrapped, but it's good for the teams playing in Europe.

Curtis Jones is expected to be called up to the provisional England squad as Henderson ends up missing out all together, seems like the last year has ruined his career

Jordan will be 34 comes the Euros , I doubt that the last year has had much bearing, his age possibly given the alternatives available to England.

Yes but I meant consistently over a number of years and delivering the biggest trophies. Quansah's age has stopped him doing that yet and hopefully he can pick up a PL or CL soon.

Yet they're effectively replaced by those CL games. I'd be happy with a Carabao or FA Cup in Slot's first season. Not if it stops us being in the mix for a PL and CL right to the end though.
