It’s Innovators month at Prestige Singapore. If you’re looking for a yoga studio that brings a new kind of creativity, look no further than Spirit Stretch, where technology becomes the paradoxical key to helping you disconnect.
Roll your shoulders back. Inhale. Exhale. Now, open your eyes. You’re surrounded by snow-capped mountains, and an hour later, they will morph into the cosmos. At Spirit Stretch, travelling is a state of mind, a welcome escape when your body is being stretched and pulled in ways you never thought it could.
The studio is the first in Singapore to provide an immersive yoga experience, where classes take place in curved rooms that feature 360-degree projections, allowing a quick retreat into a different world, sans passports. The environment du jour is chosen based on the type of class.
For instance, you could be “whisked away” to the Maldives for the fast-paced morning Vinyasa class, or to a lush forest for the calming Yoga Core class. Accompanied by classical music or singing bowls, and comforting cold air, a session here feels like a themed experience akin to projection museums that are currently all the rage. (Founder Svitlana Dabizha was indeed inspired by the Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience exhibition held in Singapore last year.)
In a way, Spirit Stretch offers a surprising paradox: technology is used to deepen the very disconnection it fosters.
Spirit Stretch is located at Forum The Shopping Mall, Office Tower, #05-04. Find out more about their classes here.
