The Wisconsin Badgers enter the 2024 college football season with one of the toughest schedules in the sport.
Gone are the days of primarily facing Big Ten West opponents, finding 10 manageable wins and walking into the Big Ten Championship game. The conference landscape changed drastically with the additions of USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington, and with the elimination of those divisions.

The 2024 football season should teach us a lot about the new landscape. It’s reasonable to project an 8-1 conference record will be necessary to make the title game, especially with the perceived quality of Oregon, Ohio State and Penn State entering the season.
Wisconsin will need a truly special season in Year 2 under Luke Fickell to finish with an 8-1 Big Ten record. That would require the defense to return to one of the nation’s best, Phil Longo’s offense to suddenly click and the team to pull several significant upsets.
