A group of more than 100 Men Who Care from South Georgian Bay region chipped in some cash to help run a seniors' wellness program for the next seven months.

The group, which sees a group of more than 100 men meet quarterly, each bringing $100 to donate to a charity chosen by the collective, chose the Clarksburg Marsh Street Centre's seniors' program for their March 2024 donation.

Together, the $100 donations from the group of men totalled $11,300 for the Marsh Street Centre.

The seniors' program is a once-a-week offering providing seniors in the area with an opportunity to socialize, learn, exercise and enjoy conversation.

“The work performed by the centre team, including a dedicated team of volunteers, meaningfully enriches the lives of many seniors as well as the broader Clarksburg/Thornbury community," said David Green, part of the leadership team for 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay, in a news release.

Marsh Street Centre president Michele Myrah, said the funds will help support costs for lunch, an exercise instructor and miscellaneous supplies.

"It will help many seniors in our community ‘start their week off right,'" said Myrah in the news release.
