Kane to miss Bayern’s final home game

MUNICH: Harry Kane’s absence looms large over Bayern Munich’s final home fixture of the season against Wolfsburg, as coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed the striker’s sidelined status due to a back injury.

Kane’s back issue surfaced during the Champions League semi-final second leg clash against Real Madrid, where he was forced off in the 85th minute. Despite Bayern’s initial lead, they succumbed to defeat, dashing Kane’s aspirations for his first career trophy.

Addressing Kane’s condition, Tuchel revealed, “Harry Kane still has back problems,” highlighting the lingering nature of the injury. This setback adds to Bayern’s woes as they navigate their way through the final stages of the season.

The English striker’s absence is significant, considering his prolific goal-scoring form this season, having netted 44 goals for the club. Leading the Bundesliga’s scoring charts with 36 goals, Kane’s contributions have been pivotal for Bayern throughout the campaign.

Tuchel further disclosed that Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala, and Serge Gnabry are also sidelined, with their availability for the season’s last game and potentially the European Championship in doubt.
