This subreddit is for discussion on both the art school operational from 1919 to 1933 that combined crafts and the fine arts and the English gothic rock band Bauhaus. Feel free to discuss both of these subjects here. The best double subject subreddit since 2012!

No it's not. It's just made to look like it's Bauhaus style
Yeah and it's kinda weird they would have a summertime show since it was a school
This is recent design. A draft of this typeface didn’t exist until approx 1926. Also the use of a hyphen between the dates is pure amateur-level typesetting. This screams Etsy to me.
Look up the Bauhaus shop for reproductions of their original posters. https://www.bauhaus-shop.de/en/
It is Etsy indeed . Thank you for that . I can ask the seller to edit out the hyphen , any other advice to make it look professional?
But why not buy a reproduction of an actual Bauhaus poster? They are very cheap. This is a poor pub band cover version created by someone lacking even the shallowest of research.
Where to start? All the letters need to be spaced correctly. The current spacing leads me to think the typeface used is likely a pirate version. You need to use an En-dash to convey a period of time. The circle is placed oddly between the lines. Etc etc. My advice is avoid. Anyone with half an art or design education looks at this and sees ‘Etsy’.
I can have them remove all the dates . I really like the 3 dimensional design and the blue
If you like it, then buy it.
I thought from the post title that you were concerned with it being an original design from the time. The seller should really make it clear that it’s ‘inspired by’ rather than ‘from’ the time.
Edit: I’d also be amazed if they can get such a blue without special inks. This looks to be an RGB mock-up and not within the standard CMYK spectrum.
Anyway, enough 🫡
