Avicii's former partner Emily Goldberg has sadly died at the age of 34, a year after joyously declaring she was "cancer free". Emily Goldberg's life was cut tragically short on April 3, 2024, in La Jolla, California, due to a pulmonary embolism.

Her family remembered her as a "vivacious and unique person who experienced many adventures in her all too brief life" who had many adventures during her too-short life. Her final Instagram post last year showed her in hospital, thumbs up, with the defiant caption: "I lived b****."

She revealed: "I have had cancer for the past year. I am now cancer free." Since her passing, Avicii's fans have flooded her post with messages of sympathy, with one fan expressing: "Hope you're reunited with your soulmate Tim and you're both enjoying rest and peace.", reports the Mirror.

Another shared: "Rest in peace," while a third offered: "My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Emily."

She leaves behind her parents, Julie and Sam Goldberg from La Jolla, and her brother Aaron Goldberg, based in Chicago, Illinois. Swedish music powerhouse, Avicii, also known as Tim Bergling, tragically took his own life in 2018 at the tender age of 28.

At the time, Emily Andre expressed her sorrow, sharing an assortment of photos showcasing their affectionate moments from their romantic period between 2011 and 2013. She mournfully typed: "'Come on babe, don't give up on us. Choose me, and I'll show you love.' Those are lyrics from a song Tim wrote for me. I wish I could have lived up to them."

Emily further offered: "For the two years we were together, he was my closest confidante, and my best friend. Now I can't look at Bear without knowing I'll never see his face again. I'm still collecting my thoughts and thank you for all your kind words and texts. Wake me up when it's all over, because I don't want it to be real #ripavicii."

She even shared a snippet from a past Whatsapp conversation with the famed DJ without providing the exact date, penning: "I love u tim! ". The international superstar reciprocated with: "I love you too emilyyyy."

On April 28 2018, the devastating news about Avicii's death in Oman was confirmed. His grief-stricken family penned a statement that read: "Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An over-achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress. When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most music."

When announcing Tim Berglings death, Avicii's family reported: "He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace. Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight."

The statement concluded: "Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive. We love you. Your family."
