Love Undercover, a new Peacock reality TV show highlights the love life of famous international soccer stars Jamie O'Hara, Marco Fabián, Sebastián Fassi, Ryan Babel, and Lloyd Jones who wish to find "the one" by concealing their true identities.
In this social experiment, the five soccer players travel to Los Angeles to find an authentic match without wealth and fame, to see how dating would be without their status. On this self-discovery journey, the cast members will learn more about heartbreak and whether they will succeed in keeping their secret.
One of the Love Undercover stars Lloyd Jones shared how dating was like being a regular person. Jones told USA Insider on May 16, 2024, that he connected with someone, however, he didn't want to spoil the surprise for the viewers and revealed minimal details. The soccer player described the woman who caught his interest as a "girl's girl," and said—
“There’s one thing that gives it away. She was just a nice girl, sort of like a girl’s girl, but that’s all I can really say."
Love Undercover star Lloyd Jones shares his dating experience on the show
Lloyd Jones opened up about what he looked for in a partner while dating in the social experiment. He also shared that while meeting new love prospects, Jones was cautious of being around women who knew much about football, as some might be fans pretending to not his true identity and playing along instead.
The Love Undercover star said he could tell a lot about someone's character just by having a conversation with them a few times. One of the "biggest tells" for him, he claimed, if a woman is interested in his wealth and celebrity is if they frequently visit nightclubs. Lloyd said—
“She just may come out with something that just sort of makes you realize, whether that be with like, she seems to be in the know and knows every footballer or what's sort of going on. I think that’s a big tell. Then you go back there three weeks later and she’s on a different one’s table. I think they’re the two biggest tells for me.”
The reality TV star hinted at a potential romance between him and an authentic match, but without revealing much details. He shared that this social experiment and dating without the stardom has been an eye-opening experience for him. The Love Undercover cast member shared that to find love, he learned something new every day, about himself alongside self-discovery and vulnerability.
Jones explained that he struggled to open up and talk openly about his feelings while dating. He told Pop Culturalist on May 16, 2024, that he learned to be cautious about his behavior as it was impacting others, which is why Jones tries his best to "be open and honest" on the show.
"I was also a bit indecisive on the show, so seeing the girls and not really knowing how it was affecting them. You’re not only hurting yourself, you’re hurting other people as well when you’re doing that. So I tried to be more open and honest as the show went on. That was the most challenging thing for me", Jones said.
