Could Modern Women's Empowerment Be a Subtle Threat to the Christian Family?

For Christians, the family structure holds profound spiritual significance, mirroring the relationship between Christ and His Church. The global rise in advocacy for women empowerment and gender equality is a contemporary phenomenon that has been welcomed by many as a progressive step towards correcting historical injustices and promoting equity. While these movements undeniably aim at uplifting women's status in society, a nuanced examination from a Christian perspective raises several pertinent questions. Is this wave of women's empowerment inadvertently disrupting the God-ordained structure of the Christian family? Are these ideologies subtly part of a clandestine agenda to undermine the traditional Christian family structure?

Historically, the argument has been made that women were marginalized and had little say in societal affairs. However, Biblical narratives present a different perspective, highlighting numerous women who played pivotal roles in God's plan. For instance, the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31 was not only a homemaker but also an entrepreneur who contributed to her family's financial stability.

In the Christian family structure, ordained by God, man is the head of the household, just as Christ is the head of the Church (Ephesians 5:23). This does not marginalize the role of women but rather illuminates the complementary roles both genders play in maintaining a harmonious Christian family. Importantly, this structure is not about domination but about mutual love, respect, and responsibility. Women are called to submit to their husbands, and husbands are directed to love their wives as Christ loved the Church (Ephesians 5:25). The husband is called to love his wife sacrificially, as Christ loves the Church, and together, they are tasked with training and nurturing their children in the ways of the Lord (Proverbs 22:6).

In recent decades, there has been a significant push for women's rights, gender equality, and empowerment, portrayed as aiming to rectify historical injustices and provide women with equal opportunities.

The Bible, in Proverbs 31:10-31 and Acts 16:14-15, supports the idea of women being industrious and contributing to their households. The Proverbs 31 woman is depicted as a capable manager of her home, engaging in commerce and ensuring her family's well-being. However, while it's entirely suitable for a woman to contribute financially to her family, the current push for complete financial independence could lead to a scenario where families lack a unified vision, and each member pursues their individual desires. This appears to divert from these Biblical principles. Increasingly, there is a growing concern that these movements for women's rights and empowerment are being co-opted by more malevolent forces. Behind the advocacy for women's and children's rights, there is a suspected hidden agenda aimed at dismantling the traditional family structure. This suspicion is not without basis, given the existence of various esoteric and new age philosophies that explicitly aim to disrupt Judeo-Christian values. A prominent example is Alice Bailey's third goal in her "10-Point Plan," which explicitly aims to destroy the traditional Christian family structure.

One of the key tactics of this hidden agenda is to promote independence at the expense of family unity. Encouraging women to become financially independent from their husbands can be seen as empowering. However, when this independence is framed in opposition to traditional family roles, it can lead to division. This trend diverts women from their family's vision, creating households where each member pursues individual desires rather than a collective goal. The Bible warns against such division, establishing a hierarchy of authority within a Christian family. In Genesis 3:16, God tells Eve, "Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you." This establishes a dynamic where the husband has authority, a concept reinforced in 1 Corinthians 11:3: "But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God." This hierarchy is meant to maintain order and unity within the family, reflecting the divine order. However, it appears that the new age ideologies and philosophies bear an unspoken intent to disrupt this God-ordained structure.

The new age teachings often masquerade as progress and development, stirring up emotions and leading people to question God's ordained order, using self-derived intelligence. This approach is reminiscent of the cunning schemes of the ruler of this world, as per 2 Corinthians 4:4, and foretold in Daniel 8:23-25.

The new age ideologies and philosophies have had far-reaching implications. In today's world, there is a noticeable trend where men fail to fulfill their biblical role as the providers and spiritual leaders of their households. Instead, they expect their wives to contribute equally or even primarily to the family's financial needs. This reversal of roles contributes to the erosion of the family structure, furthering the agenda of those who seek to undermine Christian values. Moreover, many families, including Christian ones, now operate like corporations, where each member has a "share" and decisions are made based on individual stakes rather than unified leadership. This shift is contrary to the biblical model of a family led by the husband under Christ's authority.

These changes align with the prophetic warnings in 2 Timothy 3:1-5, which describes the perilous times of the last days: "People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people." This passage highlights a self-centeredness and rebellion that are characteristic of the current age. The push for individual rights, when detached from biblical principles, leads to self-focus and independence that weaken family bonds. This trend is seen as part of Satan's broader strategy to disrupt God's design for humanity, as he is described as "the god of this world" who blinds the minds of unbelievers (2 Corinthians 4:4).

While advocating for women's and children's rights is important and necessary, it is crucial to discern the underlying motives and potential consequences of these movements. The traditional Christian family, with its God-ordained structure, is under threat from ideologies that promote individualism over collective unity. Consequently, there has been an increase in divorces and family conflicts. As Christians, we are called not solely to advocate for individual groups such as women and children, but to serve one another without segregation. Therefore, we must resist the pressure to align with the worldly agenda. As we navigate these challenges, it is essential to remain grounded in biblical principles, upholding the testimony of Jesus and the divine order established by God.

In conclusion, these are indeed critical times. As we navigate through them, it is crucial for Christians, particularly Christ's elect, to remain vigilant and discerning. Christians are called to be vigilant, discerning the schemes of the enemy and striving to maintain the sanctity and unity of the family. As we empower women, let's also empower our families by upholding the Godly structure, adhering to the biblical model of family. This adherence can help us resist the subtle yet powerful forces that seek to undermine God's design. It is the end-time, and only a few Christians who have been called and selected remain steadfast, upholding the testimony of Jesus until the Rapture. By standing firm in our faith, we await the Rapture and the ultimate fulfillment of God's promises. Remember, Christ is standing at the door, ready to Rapture the Church.
