Joshua Jackson, aged 45, will be appearing in the upcoming Karate Kid sequel on the silver screen.

He shared that his daughter played a key role in his choice to accept this movie role, marking his return to feature films after nearly a decade.

"I wanted to make this movie because it's something I can finally watch with my daughter," shared the Dawson's Creek star during an interview at the Disney Upfront red carpet on Tuesday, May 15.

In the upcoming 2025 film, Jackson will appear alongside Sadie Stanley, Ming-Na Wen, Aramis Knight, and Wyatt Oleff. The movie will also feature Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, along with Jackson's daughter Juno Rose Diana Jackson, who is 4 years old and shared with his ex-wife Jodie Turner-Smith.

The actor ended his marriage with Turner-Smith in October 2023 after being together for nearly four years.

Although he hasn't talked much about his daughter in public, he did mention his growth as a father and briefly mentioned her personality in 2022.

Jackson shared with People that being a parent is a constant journey of discovering new versions of oneself. It is important to remain open to rediscovering your child as they grow and change. Currently, Jackson is enjoying conversations with his hyper-verbal and opinionated child.

In addition to parenting, Jackson is currently in a relationship with actress Lupita Nyong’o. He recently celebrated her 41st birthday in Mexico, spoiling her with love and attention.

Lupita is having a great time celebrating her birthday with Joshua. He's making her feel like a princess by planning spa days and romantic dinners for her. Joshua is going all out to show her how special she is.

It was confirmed in December 2023 that Lupita and Joshua are in a romantic relationship.

Jackson and Turner-Smith decided to part ways due to "irreconcilable differences." They both agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their daughter.
