With news of Michelle Yeoh being slatead as one of the leads for the “Blade Runner” series, the previous installment has been highly rewatched in the last days. Currently, the movie is ranking #3 in Apple TV+ US.
The title has amazingly managed to surpass “Prometheus,” which has experienced a surge in views thanks to the upcoming “Alien” installment in hands of Fede Alvarez. Furthermore, its about to take “Ford V Ferrari” from the second spot on the top.
Its story takes place 30 years after the original production. In it, a blade runner called K discovers a secret that could lead to the worst caos ever seen, so he decides to seek help in Rick Decard, a former police officer that has been missing for a long time.
Not only does Harrison Ford come back, but also the cast is absolutely star-packed. Ryan Gosling, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas and Jared Leto are only some of the celebrities who star in this sequel.
In November 2021, Ridley Scott anounced that a “Blade Runner” show was in the works, called “Blade Runer 2099”. Although the production seemed to not be advancing, Michelle Yeoh being casted yesterday concludes that they are probably starting pre-production, aiming to air the first episodes on late 2025 or early 2026.
