The Who are one of the most influential groups in rock n' roll! From pioneering rock operas, to throwing TVs out of hotel windows, The Who have done it all.
Roger Corman and The Kids Are Alright
I forgot all about this until someone else pointed it out on Twitter, but it was Roger Corman and New World Pictures, the production company he founded with his brother Gene, who released and distributed The Kids Are Alright. New World was created to make b-movies and exploitation flicks, but that wasn't all they gave the world: they also released major films by Federico Fellini and Ingmar Bergman and Akira Kurosawa. New World started the filmmaking careers of Jonathan Demme, Joe Dante, and Ron Howard. On the musical side in addition to TKAA, Corman was responsible for producing Rock and Roll High School and distributing The Harder They Come.
Thank you, Roger Corman, we all owe you in a big way.
