Imran Khan REVEALS Being Replaced By Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor In Netflix Film Thar, Says ‘I Was Dealing With Depression’

Netflix’s action thriller Thar, featuring Anil Kapoor, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, garnered attention in 2022.
Harsh replaced Imran Khan, who was initially considered for the role, as revealed by Imran himself in a recent interview with Hindustan Times.
Here’s What Imran Khan Said On Being Replaced In Thar
Talking to Hindustan Times, Imran Khan disclosed his involvement in the early stages of Thar but withdrew due to personal reasons, including battling depression.
He stated, “I was attached to a few films then. I backed out of a couple of films at that point. I was in extended talks on a film that I believe ended up being called Thar (the Netflix film starring Anil Kapoor).”
“I was in an early stage of development on that film. And Harsh Varrdhan played that role. I started pulling back. I never issued a press statement either, saying that on this day I retired. These are also years that I was very actively dealing with depression.”

Imran’s Comeback To Big Screens
Despite reports of his comeback, Imran’s close friend Prateik Babbar hinted at his return, suggesting that “something is cooking.”
Recent reports indicate Imran’s potential role in Vir Das’ directorial debut, Happy Patel, reigniting anticipation for his full-fledged return to the screen.
This follows Imran’s last appearance in Katti Batti in 2015. The initial speculation about Imran’s lead role in Happy Patel was clarified by Aamir Khan, stating it would be a cameo. Vir Das will direct and play the lead in this film.
