Tokyo Disney Resort: An enchanting world full of fun
Fantasy Springs comprises a beautiful hotel featuring many rooms, exotic restaurants, fun rides and captivating attractions besides an intriguing section called ‘Fairy Valley’, home to Peter Pan character Tinkerbell, and Frozen’s fictional kingdom of Arendelle.
The new expansion is expected to be a major draw for Tokyo Disney Resort. Oriental Land, the resort’s operator, anticipates a significant growth in sales and footfall. According to a report by BNN Bloomberg, the resort expects more than 29 million visitors and a JPY 75 billion (RM 22,86,377,034) push in annual sales.
Plans are underway for another breathtaking attraction featuring Wreck-It Ralph, the world’s first themed experience based on the popular animated franchise. According to Box Office Mojo, Wreck-It Ralph has generated around USD 1 billion (RM 30,485,027) globally.
Various reports suggest that Japan’s amusement and theme parks are witnessing a surge in popularity, taking the numbers back to pre-pandemic levels. For instance, the footfall was around 72 million in 2023 from around 30 million in 2020 and 2021.
Meanwhile, California-based Disney in Burbank has garnered attention owing to a new Frozen-themed attraction in Hong Kong and Zootopia in Shanghai. Additionally, Disneyland Paris plans to renovate its second park and create its Frozen-inspired land.
