Jonny Greenwood has confirmed in a recent interview with The Guardian that he has started work on his score for the next (currently untitled) feature directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The film is written and directed by Anderson (Magnolia, Boogie Nights) and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Alana Haim, Wood Harris, and Chase Infiniti. No plot details have been announced yet. Anderson is also producing the project with Sara Murphy (If Beale Street Could Talk, Never Rarely Sometime Always) and Adam Somner. Greenwood (The Power of the Dog, Spencer, You Were Never Really Here) has previously scored Anderson’s last five features, There Will Be Blood, The Master, Inherent Vice, Phantom Thread and Licorice Pizza. The director’s untitled film is scheduled to be released in (regular and IMAX) theaters nationwide on August 8, 2025 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
