Prague's top 12 weekend events: Unlock secret spaces, shop for design, and dig into burgers and brews!

There’s no shortage of food and drink festivals this weekend, kicking off with the Asian Food Festival at Manifesto Anděl, running from May 16-19. Sample the flavors of Tokyo, Seoul, and more, with live music soundtracking the Asian fusion experience.

Over at Rašínovo nábřeží, the Pink May festival on May 18 will bring tipple from over 25 Czech wineries to the water’s edge. Spend your Saturday with a glass of wine or cocktail in hand, accompanied by jazz and swing music.

Bite into a hearty patty at the Beer and Burger Festival on May 19 at Karlínské náměstí. The annual event brings some of the most delicious burgers from Prague and beyond, as well as a range of beer brews. Sweet churros, face painting, and tattoo tents will also be on site. 

If that doesn’t tickle your taste-buds enough, the Red Hot Chilli Festival is sure to set them on fire. The debut of this festival at Cross Club on May 19 promises a range of stalls selling chilli products, along with talks with experts, enthusiasts and foodies. There’ll even be a neighborhood swap of seedlings for home growers.

The Open House Praha festival, running until May 19, allows you to tour through normally inaccessible buildings and spaces throughout Prague. The program includes more than just access to buildings, including a walking tour through the labyrinth of Malostranské dvorké and pub quizzes.

The National Agricultural Museum is also celebrating International Museum Day, with entry to all expositions and exhibitions free on May 18.

Head down to the Prague Exhibition Grounds to mingle with and support over 200 local designers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Germany and Ukraine at the Dyzajn market Máj. Buy or browse original products while sipping on a coffee or treat from one of the stalls on May 18.

By the water at Smíchovská Náplavka, enjoy the warm weather while browsing a collection of brands at LEMARKET. Hang out in the lounge zone overlooking the river, and sample food from various pop-up stalls on May 18.

If you haven’t "run" out of steam since the Prague Marathon earlier this month, you can still get your joggers on and be part of the unique X RUN running race. Suitable for any level of running experience, the five-kilometer trail will go through the Prague 10 district on May 18.

On May 18, peruse military equipment and weapons at Atrium Flora, which will be transformed into a military base. Army Day is in its seventh year and is suitable for the whole family. This year’s program also features a formation flyover of Mi-17 and W-3A Sokol helicopters.

Enjoy a discounted pass for evening screenings of Japanese films by Hayao Miyzaki at Kino Oko this weekend. The co-founder of Studio Ghibli has a large filmography full of international hits, including Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, which will be screened with English subtitles on May 18 and follows the story of a master thief.

Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt) will be screened at Edison Junior on May 19 at 2 p.m., without dubbing - so you and your family can enjoy the hilarious orange cat in English as he goes on a high-stakes heist.
