The 2003 hit How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days has all the makings of an early aughts rom-com: a career woman not looking for love, a main character working in magazines, and the kind of wardrobe that's easy to recall. The movie brought in over $100 million at the box office, but its most enduring legacy is the yellow gown that Kate Hudson's character, Andie Anderson, wears in one of the final scenes. For a movie made over two decades ago, the dress is unexpectedly timeless; silk slip dresses and butter yellow remain decidedly in (Sabrina Carpenter even opted for a lookalike while celebrating her 25th birthday).

Anderson, a 'how to' columnist at a women's magazine, is deep into her latest assignment: to get dumped in 10 days or less. She's tried crashing boys' night and using several infantilizing nicknames, to no avail. Her love interest, ad executive Benjamin Barry (played by Matthew McConaughey), is seemingly smitten. What she doesn't know is that he also has ulterior motives, having made a bet that he can get her to fall in love with him in the same timeframe. It all comes to a head when Barry invites Anderson as his date to a work gala. When Barry spots her in the silky drop-waist yellow dress, he clutches his chest, and you can sense time slowing for him. He may have pursued her on questionable grounds, but once he sees her in that gown, he's the one who's head over heels.

Although the original dress was custom Carolina Herrera Hudson told Vanity Fair, these 12 dupes are the next best thing.

Though it has a different neckline, the pale yellow silk of this backless gown is a solid reference to Andie Anderson's look. The halter neck is tied with sashes that extend past the waist, adding drama.

This more affordable option from Pepper Mayo references the back of the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days dress most closely, with criss crossing straps and a skirt that dips to the hips. The front is simple, with a cowl neck and an a-line skirt.

This option replicates the neckline on the dress in the movie best and features an added slit. The back features a crisscross strap detail but isn't quite as low-cut as the original.

Hudson's character wears the famous dress to a diamond party, so it's only fitting to wear something bejeweled in reference. This take on the yellow slip dress features sparkling crystal straps and a deep v-cut back.

This dress isn't entirely similar, but it feels like the kind of dress Andie Anderson would wear.
